(Charleston Classic) NORTH TEXAS, Thur., Nov. 16, 1:30p, ESPNU

Pitino was adamant about recruiting shooters. Well that didn’t happen.
offense runs that weave beyond the 3 point line and nobody breaks it off and penetrates.
Jenkins is the only one who can put multiple dribbles together.
No drive and dish, no pick and roll, no ball screens equals no offense.
Jenkins taking multiple shots, but others get touches and do nothing with it.
Monte was the first to say mid major players playing in a major conference. Not working so far.

just saw all the highlights 6 for 23 or something from the 3 point line is what did this in. Nort Texas wont the NIT tourny last year and was the nations 2 longest winning streak (so maybe there not as bad as we thought). SJU was dominate on defense just the threes didnt go down. Jenkins I can see what some are saying but 3 games in dont have enough to form an opinion. But if a hall of fame coach who has won everywhere including iona sees something in jenkins who am i to judge.

Marillac2,
IMHO it is definitely a Pitino problem if he allows it to continue. He is the coach after all.
Rarely do you have many high scoring PGs seemingly choosing points v assists, moving ball and directing things. Jenkins it appears has green light to go Allen Iverson score first route. Yeah, it is early but hopefully a more balanced approach evolves and Jenkins obviously is no AI.

not working? we are 2-1 3 games in. RELAX dude take a breath. IF they were not any good they wouldnt be here. Plus our crop is better then what we have had. Just let rick cook as they say. We won onto the next game.

As another poster said a few pages ago, I'd like to see Wilcher more at the point. Let Jenkins play off the ball more, which may be better for him and the team. Either way, we need to get Dingle going - either playing the 2 or the 3 (if we go small). And let's get Taylor more minutes and touches.

We can’t worry about style wins in November.
My concern is the inability to get Joel the ball down low.

Should be an interesting semifinal tomorrow. Dayton brought a large contingent and their band as well.
We had a guy who just put it in his hands as he wized by and handed joel the ball. why rick didnt had a big east point guard who was rookie of the year and defensive player of the done by only one other guy. He turned posh off when he was going to depend on a maac player when all he had to do was tell posh he would get to play. Coaches do it all the time. Well, rick made a mistake. Does this team have another guy who is point guard ready? Its a important thing.

stating the obvious, but among other things we'll need to shoot it better to win tomorrow. Defense a whole lot better today so that is a plus take away.
Guess it will be a sea of red tomorrow. 2 PM start?

I thought we would have a smoother transition with this team than most here. I still think they figure it out. Yes it can be construed as a mess at times. I noticed a 5 plus minute. 3-4 minute and another long scoreless stretch through the live stats site. They painfully show these scoreless streaks after they hit 2 minutes. That’s really bad to have 1 of them let alone 3. That needs to stop.

But that said. We won and there are way too many times teams look like shit one or 2 games then look great.

We beat Dayton and keep the train rolling here.

You obviously need good chemistry between PG Jenkins and primary SG Dingle. Hope to see that sooner than later. Be nice to make finals here and give Houston all they can handle and bring home a trophy.Rick is battle tested, knew they could struggle early, so best to be patient, but moderately concerned from small sample about team chemistry.

Obviously anything can happen in college basketball but don't think this team is anywhere near being able to compete with Houston at the current moment.
