Welcome Kadary Richmond!

RP is not replacing Jenkins, Smith is. KP is replacing Dingle.

This should give us three guys (Smith, KP and RJ) in the starting five who can create for themselves and others ( a healthy wiser RJ on the “create for others” part). They will have to learn how to do it together and if they do, this will be a fun and exciting team.
Hmm RP, KP are we trying to keep opponents scouting reports off balance??

Richmond is a much better rebounder and defender than Daniss. He very much deserved his first team Big East selection.
And draws fouls much better as well, but Smith better comparison as the PG
Kadary's a lot better than Jenkins, Smith should be a better fit than Dingle on Day 1, and Wilcher as a soph will be much better than Wilcher as a frosh. Glover adds even more depth that we simply didn't have last year.
Agree with y'all, and this is coming from a huge Jenkins fan.

Are you expecting more from Glover than we got from Nahiem?
Forgot about Nahiem. I don’t think glover plays more than him/impacts the game more. But i can see some lineups where RJ slides to the two before Glover anyway. I think Kadary/Smith/Wilcher and a little of RJ will be more effective as a whole than our guard rotation last year. If it’s close, it’s been another disappointing year

Agreed. I still don’t see a guard from glover. I see a 3. He’s got great size and could be a monster physically in a year or two.

Frankly, I think we'll see him in a swingman role (2 and 3).
Personally I think better chance of 3/4 than 2/3, knowing the amount of wings who play the 4. I see him matching up better with guys like Luis, than I do with guys like a Dingle or Kam Jones. But if he proves to be capable of guarding quicker guards, then having that size at the 2 could be a big weapon.

Wilcher really has a great opportunity and hopefully gets stronger, more confident and works his tail off this off season. Smith being so mega confident, physical and aggressive is perfect role model for Sim. Playing on & off the ball is perfect situation for Wilcher in terms of improving his skill set. Only a Soph, but a critical year for him imo.

Do you really think so re:3/4 being Glover is only 6'4"? If he was shaped like Charles Barkley or Chris Ledlum at 6'4", then I'd lean to some time at the 4. He may can guard some four men (possibly), but offensively he's likely to play the 2/3.

I’ve seen 6’4- 6’6. I think he’s in that Luis/ Taylor height/length range. I don’t think any chance Wilcher and Jenkins are his height and they were listed at 6’4.

And I know it's a different game but 6’4 Josh Hart is leading the playoffs in rebounds playing the 4.

The fact that we are discussing options with modest differences tells me Rick has a group of wings/guards w the flexibility and length for most part he loves.

We worry about losing kids with so much depth and fact you can never keep everybody happy. That said the smart players will work extremely hard in off season to hit the ground running and practice their tails off. Competition for minutes will be fierce.

How deep do you guys see the rotation running? Eight or nine deep is about as far as I could see, but interested to get some thoughts.

I say something like this:

Locked in for 25+ mpg
Kadary
Smith
Luis

Around 15-25 mpg
Wilcher
Scott
Zuby

Around 8-15 mpg
Dunlap
Vince

Less than 8 mpg
Glover
Greek Kid

Cupcakes only
Maker
Ayo

Portal F is ideally in that 1st or 2nd tier.

Ultimately think we're all going to spend too much time on structured lineups and positions, while most of this will be super fluid based on match-ups, performance in practice, and in general, a ton of different looks & variations throughout the game.

I think Pitino wants to press and wear teams out enough that it will be nine getting full “rotation” minutes and ten not getting a DNP.

Well since most NCAA teams, and plenty of NBA teams, are starting 3 or even 4 guards nowadays that makes him a guard. The inability to shift thinking from old to new school is prevalent in us old folk.
