South Carolina Game

The best passing thus far; unselfish performance. Garrett did exactly what he did at Findlay Prep, chippies underneath. Jones has gone from starter to last one in; hopefully he doesn't get discouraged. Should motivate him.

Nice to have a laugher. Hope that kid from SC that had to be stretchered off is okay. Odd that we are so good at blocking shots but struggle to rebound.

Frank Martin is one intimidating-looking dude. Has Gene Keady retired? Have not seen him on the bench this year...

Report from St. John's:Brenton Williams had movement in hands and feet before he left floor and taken to hospital for further evaluation. ...

Sure hope the young man is okay. In all my years of following St. John's -- I think this is my 50th year (horrors!) -- I've never seen a player carried off the court on a stretcher. Very scary, very disturbing.

Keady has been on the bench since day one. Probably didn't recognize his grey hair.

No keady is on the bench. he just has a different look. got rid of the comb over. hope that williams guy is ok, that was scary to watch.

Keady lost a ton of weight, stopped the combover, and lost the shoe polish. He looks great, and is on the bench. Word is his new wife has him eating well.

Yes Keady has been there(grey hair) hope the kid from SC is OK. That was the calmest I have ever seen Martin.
Great win!
Question,
Do we let Gift play, hope Sanchez is cleared and with Branch coming, go for it? If we play well we pack the Garden and suddenly people(ACC or other options) look at us as SJU is back?

We have to develop plays to post up Borgault. You can tell that he has the stroke.

Post up? You mean spot up? He basically hangs around the perimeter, and waits for his teammates to find him. Unless he can shoot like Mullin, and prove it to his teammates, he will get lost. He also has to work harder without the ball. He seems to shoot a little flat to be a dead eye shooter. I was a little disappointed that after nailing 2 straight 3 pointers, when it turned to total garbage time, he still launched a couple of shots (one from around 27 feet) that a cooler kid would have given up to let a deep bench player shoot.

The two Felix swats to start the second half had me thinking that Obepka was on the court. The kid can flat out jump and is a quick jumper at that. This team may become good faster than we think, even if South Carolina might not be that good.

I think Lavs told him to go out there and shoot just to see what he could do.

LOVE!!! Felix the Cat!!! This kid is the real deal. Watch him on the court, he never stops moving. Defenders can't keep up with him and offensive players can't get him out of their faces! Go Felix!!!

With all Marco has been thru he had the green light and I'm fine with that. Now if we can create looks for him.

I missed the first half (work), but, man, that was a fun second half to watch. The cutting, the looks, the defense...just scintillating, I know SC isn't gonna make it to the tourney or anything, but that was something to build on. We still can't handle height too well, but if we play like that, we will dance this year.
The cuts to the basket, and the bounce passes, day-um.

Echo the sentiments about the SC kid. That was tough to watch, and you can tell their team was pretty shaken up by it.

According to Zagoria, Breton Williams has been treated and released and will fly back with the Gamecocks. Good to hear.
