South Carolina Game

SJU asking all fans to wear black to Thursday night's game against South Carolina to create a "blackout".....also, the first 2,000 fans will receive a free black T-shirt.....

Really want to go to this game too bad I have a class smack in the middle of it :yell:. Would have liked to get a free LARGE blackout shirt (go ahead...get some while it's hot!).:angry:

Take you all back to March of 1981-President Reagan gets shot-it is decided that NC game between NC and Indiana will be played as scheduled. I am in law school with a monday night class Trial Practice with a Federal Judge as my prof. Showed up to class and asked the Judge to excuse me from class after allowing me to go first with my presentation because I was upset at the president being shot (which I was) and thought the class should be cancelled. Judge Rice said he would allow me to leave as long as the reason was not to watch the NC game. I assured him it wasn't, got home, waited a few minutes and said Oh well, since I am home I may as well watch the game. Needless to say all my friends were quite jealous. On a serious note thank goodness the President survived what was a much more serious situation than we were told at the time.

Missed opportunity for some sort of gun control. NRA more powerful then ever.
 
Think the official scorer is jobbing us. Halftime stats show us with only 3 blocks. I've counted seven....

It's the combination of a special event like a blackout with free shirts facing a major conference team. SJ needs to keep doing stuff like that to draw well.

Report from St. John's:Brenton Williams had movement in hands and feet before he left floor and taken to hospital for further evaluation.


Obekpa appeared to have landed on his neck after attempting to block his shot. Had to be carted off the floor and wasn't moving for a while. Hoping the injury isn't that serious and he will be ok
 
The ONLY negative from this game is they will be outrebounded again. Everything else has been fantastic

Starting to see some chemistry on offence. Good confidence builder.

Harrison with 26, Garrett with 15 and 11, Greene had 13 and Sampson 11, Balamou and Obepka with 8 apiece

I want Sanchez to play SO BAD...really dying to see what this team looks like with him. No team can defend Sanchez, D'Lo, Sampson, Greene, Garrett together.

Agreed, but they both will get it together in time and have consistently good games.
IMHO we now have 3 very good forwards, a great guard and 2 good guards, a good center and a bench with Marco and Jones. If Sanchez ever gets cleared our front court improves as will our backcourt when Jamal becomes eligible in 2.5 weeks. The pieces are all there now we have to get it together on a regular basis. I hope tonight's 25 point win is the start of something big.
 
You can tell Marco wanted to shoot so bad lol...at one point he had the ball and thought about shooting it from Suffolk County, but he thought better of it and passed it lol. If we can get him open, we have 2 players who can nail 3's consistently.
