Providence, Fri., Dec. 20, 8p, FOX

Amazing finish but quite similar to last year's game at Providence where we also scored 72 points but in that game Providence had one more 3 pointer on one more attempt and won by 3. This year we controlled the ball much better with only 6 t/o's versus 16 in prior season's game.
It may also have to do with the fact that PC had superior talent on the court last year with a first round draft pick.

Great Great win. That Was a game we lost saw lost in the lat 19 years ago we did not play great bur we won.

Great SJU show before you complain maybe you should make the easy trip, My family went we had a great time @nd drinks

With the savior Ml Rick Pitino after the game. We have been irrelevant for so long now is the time time to make our. Mark

No,excuses. I love St Johns
Agree, kind of a dumb thing to say when they have to face them again at the Garden. It essence he made his own team look bad.
What did Coach English say last night ? I missed it

Glover will get eaten up on the defensive side of the ball. Scott will not
Smith is a stud. Only going to get better. Scott had two plays in end game that won game. Pitino singled him out in presser. He was outstanding in Bahamas. His shot will settle in. He hit a mid range yesterday. Better than Taylor. Can defend any position. We got ourselves a team here.

Yes, especially since to my surprise we were effectively the home team in the Bahamas as our fans showed out that weekend.
I was there. We had maybe 75 more vocal fans but far from a home game. Low ceilings in ballroom. Moisture on floor with guys falling. Leak from ceiling at center court. Three games in four days. No opportunity to practice on one of courts. Not the friendly rims of Jamaica. If we are in Vegas invitational next year will be challenging for sure.

As Mean “Where is my life boat” Gene noted this team obviously still suffers from perimeter shooting woes. Hopefully that comes around, because it makes it easier for opponents to play off shooters and collapse, clogging driving lanes.

Gene’s point re this group having to overachieve via intense, consistent defense to generate some easy buckets and disrupt offensive flow of opponents is spot on. The second half D won the game. Best case scenario is the D functions at mega high level, while there is adequate improvement in outside shooting. Realistically, until latter improves I expect a lot of rock fights. Valuing the ball and playing smart is also a work in progress, but trust staff to remedy that. (hopefully).

Lastly, I think toughest opponent for us will be teams who match our physicality and defense, while demonstrating better shooting and ball movement. UConn may fit that profile.
Spot on.

I know it's only part of the equation, but he's shooting better from '3' and from the line than RJ.
Pitin
And , is Scott really a upgrade over Glenn Taylor ? So far ?
we don’t know what role Pitino wants Scott to play. Maybe it’s the three. He did take and hit a mid range yesterday. Scott was money in Bahamas. He will sort it out.
