(POST GAME). Boston College (@Mohegan Sun), Mon., Nov. 30, 6p, ESPNU / 970 AM WN
Who was the color guy? Really fun to listen to.

Really exciting game.
The color guy was Jon Crispin
Played 2 years at Penn State then transferred to UCLA for his last 2 years

What a game..

I probably shouldn't admit this, but it was such a nail biter at the end I literally could not watch it.
First I had to turn the volume off - somehow that lessens the tension for me.

Then, when it got really tight at the end, I couldn't wait & watch through the timeouts, free-throws etc.
I had to hit "pause" on the tv, walk around and do something, walk back to the tv, and then just fast forward it a bit and not watch the action live.

...and then phew! I can now go back and calmly watch a replay.
:)

If Wusu was 4 inches taller, he would have been a MCAA and would be playing for Kansas right now ;)

Really? I...uh...neverrrr do that. Yeah. Never in doubt :)

Who was it that said that this year was too soon to expect Champ to become our go-to guy? Oh wait, that was me. If tonight was an indication, I'll be eating crow on that one very soon. And I've never been happier to eat crow in my life.

And played for Lavin so likely some SJU love still.

Champagnie was unconscious tonight. Catch and pop jumpers, drives, fadeaways. Kid looked loose and on a mission. He’s going to be a problem for teams because we also have a lot of other scoring. Hard to just let on him and he’s a do-it-all forward. Total eye of the tiger and executed as such.

Its a confidence thing. Hes been through a big east season now. you can see it in Greg Williams too.

Where I dont see it is with earlington. It looks like hes lost confidence out there.

I expect Earl to come around and be a valuable contributor off the bench this season. Maybe not quite as much as he contributed last season, but only because we are a much deeper and more talented team.

He’s got a lot more competition out there for PT & seems to be pressing, forcing shots. Last year’s shorter rotation played to his advantage. This deeper, more talented one may not, resulting in less minutes some nights.

Earlington needs to give us 10-12 minutes per game, with about 4.0ppg and 4.0rpg. He isn't big enough to play down low, but also not quick enough to play on the perimeter. He reminds me of a much, much less talented Anthony Glover.

It also looks like he either doesn't understand what his role on the team this year will be, or he simply does not want to accept what his role will be this season. He needs to go back to that junkyard dog mentality where he makes hustle plays and cleans up the boards. But when he has been out there during the first 3 games, it seems like he is desperately trying to get his & prove that he belongs, which has led to a lot of terrible, low quality shots.

Posh seemed to lose focus after the missed windmill. In the last 10 minutes, he looked like a freshman for the first time this season. I guess he is human after all. Sometimes, these things serve as a wake up call.

Boston College has a nice team. They didn't quit and made us earn the win. That's what helps build character in a team. Williams saved the day by drawing 3 or 4 fouls late in the game. He did an excellent job as a second ball handler to help Posh break the press. Does anyone know if a timeout was even called that resulted in that 5 minute delay? Whatever the case may be, the referees should have let Williams shoot and then stop play. There was no need to ice him like that.

Anyone else think Jon Crispin is a trainwreck of an announcer?

I watched him call a couple of VT games too, he just uses overuses cliches, struggles to finishes sentences, says non-sensical things like asking if St. John's stop playing fast paced and gets mocked by his play-by-play partners.

It now makes perfect sense why we almost blew a 20 point lead to BC as CMA explained in the post game interview "They started touching our balls".
