(POST GAME). Boston College (@Mohegan Sun), Mon., Nov. 30, 6p, ESPNU / 970 AM WN

Yes, a little wrenching. But boy what a new feeling from the last several decades, with few exceptions. Even our minor players (excluding maybe 1 guy) all seem capable BE players. More shooters/ scorers. More bigs with skills. Better foul shooting overall. A true star (Champ) and big time point guard. Real depth.

Yes there’s loads of improvement needed and possible. Especially on defense.

But this team represents a huge upgrade talent wise reflections a deliberate snd professional approach and great talent evaluation.

Most years, we lose the lead and the game. We may have a few of those this year. But not tonight.

I waited to eat my cannoli after the W. Not super stitious but I am a little stitious -Michael Scott

Greg Williams Jr. in 35 minutes, 17 points, 6 assists, 2 steals, just 1 turnover. Arguably his best game as a Johnnie. #sjubb
Zach B

I concur, he’s a lay back kid who I still think can be key leader

Well, Anderson said that at times it might be 30 minutes of hell and 10 minutes of what the hell are they doing.

A win is a win, but was worried about my blood pressure which is normally good.

Champagnie was the man. Good ball movement. Williams and Wusu both had 6 assist and Posh with five.
Save the windmill dunks Posh when you up 20 with four minutes to go.

I hope there is nothing serious with Roberts shoulder.

Brooklyn in the House--Thanks for a wonderful game Julian. I did not expect such an effort and results after his injury and sitting out. Thought the rust and game condition would be problems tonight but you make me eat crow for dessert. Glad 1/2 of Brooklyn back; now I await Dunn to complete the pairing.

Pretty sure Posh from Brooklyn too.

That was basically a 35 minute preview of what I think Mike Anderson is building at SJU which can be a lot of fun to watch and add up to a lot of wins.

And then 5 minutes of WHAT THE F***.

But I'll take it.
To your point, and we saw this last year, it seems our team under Anderson has problems both closing out games and playing with a lead, big or small. I know Anderson and staff realize that, but it seems like there is a difficult adjustment when going from playing frenetic fast pace to game situations where it makes sense to slow things down and grind it out a bit. Youth and inexperience play a role in that as well, of course. It was nice to have that happen in this game against what looks like a pretty solid BC team and still come out with W. So the point is made yet again, hopefully the lesson is learned to some extent, but without the accompanying L.
I think the difference between this game and the situations last year is that last season we would go into a shell. I think today’s blown lead was more a function of carelessness. Posh ill conceived dunk attempt, a number of missed layups and bad passes.

Wanted the statement win but will settle for a win - period. Opportunity to learn.

And still won against an ACC team, so what’s your point?

I question CMA’s non-use of timeouts when there was a need to change the pace and reset. This was not the first game where I’m screaming for a TO, but coach didn’t hear me.
Why do all my teams do this to me?
I know one team you root for who doesn't

I agree, maybe with a team full of juniors and seniors you let the team work it out, not a team with alot freshmen and sophomores. Maybe Mike wants them to grow up in a hurry

Who was the color guy? Really fun to listen to.

Really exciting game.
