Mullin Stepping Down

Great it had to be done. Hurley is a good fit here. He will be able to recruit locally and he has that fire in his belly that we need. I'll take a crazy passionate guy over a lazy one anyday. I kept quiet up until now because everyone was just repeating the same stuff but who ever said Mullin made progress or deserved another year has no clue what they are talking about. He was a disaster here point blank. Now he can return to Cali and be with his family like he wanted to anyway. Hopefully Hurley can retain LJ, kid is a star.

It had to be done. Wish Coach Mullin the best. Of the potential replacements would pref out 1)Pitino-slam dunk to make us relevant 2)Hurley- likely a very good choice. Hopefully coaches here for 20 years. 3) Cluess- has won everywhere, but on older side without Pitino's resume

Hurley
Cluess
Dawkins
Amaker
Scheyer
James
Pitino
Hell no to Cluess, Amaker and Scheyer. Just a "no" to Dawkins. Who is James? Does LeBron wanna coach us next season? :)

Good luck and God bless you and your family Chris.

Great post. Chris is an all-time great and these four years do nothing to diminish that. As I said in an earlier post, I trust Cragg. He will do his due diligence and make the best hire. Just hope it doesn't drag out any longer than a week so we can hit recruiting season running. Time to watch the final! Glad this is resolved.
Please not Rick Pitino and all his schtick and baggage - and I hope Chris is more relieved than bitter
Hope matters end amicably
No time for bitterness and finger pointing
Blessings
SS&G, Pearl was corrupt at Tenn, got a second chance @ Auburn, and makes the F4.
I didn't want Rick, but after watching Auburn, screw it. It Rick
But....but...Mullin has relationships with all the local high school coaches, we can't lose his influence in scoring all the local big time recruits!
Not a time to be sarcastic
Let the great Chris Mullin go in
Peace
Basketball has been his
Life
He’s been the best
Clearly HC was not his calling
But no need for the critique
Please

Agree he may have had a GM's mentality, but his choices for putting together an effective staff -- with, ironically, the sole selection of Slice -- were awful.

Agreed I think he means Nate James, K assistant and former Duke player.

Bobby would be an upgrade but not sure how much long term if he has the skills to match Jay. He'll work though.

Pitino would win with 5 midgets and a cheerleader.

When Mullin was first hired we heard it was a family decision his wife and children were on board.
They buy a home in Manhasset and they move here. One year later the house is up for sale and the
wife moves back to the west coast. Anyone who is or has been married knows that’s no way to run a
marriage. And that sets the program up for a part time coach in a part time marriage. That along with
bad decisions by Mullin with his coaching staff, was a recipe for the results we got. Better for everyone
that this has ended.

I cant believe Hurley is being talked about like a savior! He has NEVER built a succesful program!!! EVER anywhere! He is the same risk Norm was, Lavin was, Mullin was! Stop settling for a maybe and hyping him! He is a hot head! Pitino is a final 4 machine! One is a HOF coach, and the other is a technical foul from the shower!

Matt is in Nebraska!;)

(for 20minutes) :)
Nah there will be holdouts.
Tim Cluess will be the next coach. Just a hunch.
Not a chance in hell...
It's going to be Hurley.
From your statement.
To Naclerio's
To the good ole tea leaves the past few weeks. I think this has been signed sealed and delivered and waiting to be unwrapped

Cluess would be great........as an assistant.

Doubt they forced out CM to settle for Cluess.

Oh! Hell no to Nate James, too!

Pitino would take this team we have right now, and add a couple of decent-to-solid players to the mix, and we'd find ourselves dancing next season.
