Nimmo and Conforto figure to be teammates for a decade with the Mets.
For a franchise that has struggled as woefully as the Mets to produce position players, I can't say I share the same unbridled optimism as you.
Oh, my optimism is bridled
I'm a Mets fan after all. This is the first time I've felt good about a season in almost a decade. The difference between now and the past is that I trust Alderson completely. Conforto is a close of a lock as you'll see for a position player. The ceiling isn't as high as Nimmo, but he'll hit. I'm less certain about Nimmo, but hopeful. He has star potential...I'd just like see the power #s pick up.
Speaking of lack of power, Dominic Smith has four homers in 742 at bats. He's at high-A with Conforto and is only hitting .213 with an awful .267 OBP.
