Mets

If the Mets can flip a few prospects for a shortstop then forget about it. They will have a decent lineup and one of the best staff's in the game. Not to mention one of the best closers in the game. I'd take our chances against anyone in a 7 game series trotting out Harvey, Thor, deGrom and Fatolo.

I agree about Familia...lights out. I actually liked Mejia there too for as crazy as he was. He had awesome save to blown save ratio.

Thanks for jinxing Familia to leaving the lights on last night.

Any other Right fielder in the history of baseball throws the guy out at the plate there. That was a 200 foot sac fly

Bad arm for sure, but Granderson didn't put guys on the corners. By no means was it a given that a decent arm guns him out and it wasn't a 200 ft fly ball.

245 ft and fast runner. Only strongest arms would have had any chance with an absolutely perfect throw. Cardinals are a good team and can score against good pitchers. Fortunately we won.

That is an out in some middle schools. He was 40 feet from the IF dirt. I posted after watching the Mets-Red Sox spring training game from RF in March how noticeably weak Granderson's arm was during warm ups. The kid warming him up had MUCH more pop on his throws and they were effortless.

Someone out there that did not throw like a 12 year old girl they might not have sent him

If Kirk is eliminated, I would feel better. I can't watch him hit. He is Josh Satin 2.

Got your wish, going to be designated for assignment. Doubt anyone claims he though so he will be back at Vegas. Classic Quadruple A player.

Thank God. Been waiting for the Mets to come to their senses and get rid of him. Watched him when he was in the Arizona Fall League, stunk then also. As I mentioned previously I don't care if they replace him with a right handed hitter. Has to be someone down on the farm that can make contact.

Why do you guys do this to yourselves every year? It is frankly very entertaining to read and listen to all of you expecting the Mets to win a sausage. Then the first of July happens.

I don't think Mets fans have expected anything more than possibly .500 for most of the last decade. This year is different. The Mets are still a flawed team, but they might have the deepest pitching in baseball. The bullpen is missing all but two guys we expected to have, and it has been amazing.

If they can stay reasonably healthy after everyone gets back from the DL (and suspension for Mejia), they can challenge for a playoff spot.

You got to like the job that Robles, Goedel and A.Torres are doing. Still need Black and Parnell back to finish the last few innings.

It's no secret the D'backs stink, especially their pitching staff, relievers and starters. Gee how bad is their staff when their best pitcher is Colmenter. My point is they need a guy like Montero, maybe even Gee. I especially like the way Owings has improved this year. Not too long ago he was a heralded prospect.

Don't run away from your assertion. You are a jinx.. Just don't go making NCAA proclamations :) and certainly no playoff proclamations.. And say nothing good about the Mets pitching the rest of the way.

Can't wait much longer for Matz. Time to move Niese and Gee for anything.

Was at the game tonight. Very disappointed. Neise is the weak link. Bring up Matz and trade Neise for anything you can get. Then we would have the most awesome starting staff in MLB. Thor is a monster and will be pitching our next no hitter. Colon, de Grom, Harvey, Thor, and Matz! Wow! What a rotation!

Not that this site should be about baseball trades, I thought this one interesting.

First, I would offer the same players to the Red Sox for Xander, but if they said "NO", I guess I would make the trade. I am tired of seeing Flores at short...move him to second. Murphy....takers???? Gift Certificate from Blockbuster? Good enough...gone.

Went to my first game in 1978. Played baseball from little league, in college and then Men's league. I have never, ever, not once seen a 2nd baseman charge a sacrifice bunt. Now thanks to Murphy I have

Take the prospects out of this and you're basically swapping DeGrom for Castro.

Last year's ROY, a cheap #2 starter and potential all star this year for an okay hitting, poor fielding SS.

This is a steal for the Cubs.

Mets fans need to stop being so fixated on looking for a star SS. Find an above average SS or hell an everyday MLB SS who won't embarrass himself in the field or at the plate.

And save your premio chits for some true offensive power in the outfield.

They are stupidly invested in Cuddyer /Granderson and will not eat any $ to eat those contracts or not play either. RF and LF will be those two for next 2 years

I know. This is going to drive me nuts. I'm sure they want to slide in Nimmo/Conforto when those two age out for a cheap transition.

Both may turn out to be great, but we're wasting years on these arms with this anemic lineup. Pity.

Respect your experience, but would question, what about a drag bunt that gets pushed past the pitcher's mount towards second. Doesn't the second baseman charge that?

Conforto will be good. Great swing!
Next year going to be rough with Granderson and Cuddyer a year older. Cuddyer would be ideal 4th outfielder at this point.

We only have Cuddyer next year but are stuck with Grandy for two more years I believe. Byrd was better.
