Can we call up Conforto please?

Platoon Granderson and Cuddyer. I am down. Because of Super 2 probably wont see Conforto until June of next year though

No need to rush Conforto. Let's get Matz up and see what he can do. We get Murphy back next week and hopefully Blevins and Goeddel in a few weeks.

Might be the worst hitting 1st place team in history

Kranmars you are not a pessimist when expressing concerns over the lineup, just a realist. Changes need to be made to get more firepower in the lineup. As mentioned by someone I don't really trust the people at the head of this organization to make good moves. So we will have to hope they surprise us. Also, I'm very concerned about D Wright as well, if he ever does come back I wonder if he will ever produce well again in the league.

For now I hope we keep hanging in and can stay in the race deep into September.

Yes, those "meaningful games in September," as promised by our astute owners.

At this point, if Wright comes back next year as a sIngles hitter, I will take it as a best case. His power has decreased anyway (quite possibly due to the degeneration of the back) and now it may just hasten the loos of power.

If that's the case, then Flores probably moves to third, or they could take a flyer on Matt Dominguez, a 3B prospect just released by Houston. Former big prospect has been awful last two years. But is only 25 and maybe something clicks late.

Other than that, I have nothing but pessimism (or realism).

It's been clear that Flores can't cover the ground needed at short. Just look at some of the balls hit to his left at Toronto and that poor miscatch of a liner that eventually led to at least 6 runs. Granted he can swing the bat but we can't win with his poor defense and range. Still think we should covet Segura from the Brewers, they have to be at the desparate stage at this point. Maybe we can give them Niese or Montero..

I like this idea, but he's still only 25 and is signed thru 2019. I wouldn't give him up even if I was rebuilding.

Another pitiful loss due to the usual pathetic hitting and poor infield play and Terry Collins. Let's start with the $15 million loser Granderson who managed to leave runners on base and strikeout again. BTW, he has 14 K's in his last 40 at bats. And the usual suspect in another loss our plodding shortstop, Flores. Once again he made a poor decision in throwing late to first. And in my opinion Collins blew the game by taking deGrom out after hurling a 4 hit game with only 97 pitches. Then he brings in Gilmartin, lefty facing lefty. May I remind you Jake was still throwing 96mph. In the after game interview Collins indicates he took out our best pitcher because he had thrown 97 pitches and it was 95 degrees. Granted Gilmartin has been surprisingly effective but doesn't have the strikeout pitch deGrom has. Pederson who knocked in the winning runs was hitting .278 against lefties. Not surprising but these hitless wonders couldn't get more then 6 hits off a first time major league starter, scoring once again only one run. This Brave starter had been whacked all over the place in his last start in Triple A. After Jacob was taken out of the game facing a loss he showed an angry side in the dugout. If you witnessed his interview after the loss you could see the frustration in his face. But of course he didn't throw anyone under the bus with his expected politically correct comments.

I know they won't sit Cudyer/Granderson but the kid is raking. Can't wait till he comes.

Mets OF prospect Michael Conforto collected a pair of hits Monday night in New Hampshire, including his eighth double in 20 Double-A games. He has at least one hit in 17 of those 20 games and is batting .378.

Stewart Summers:
The Mets offense looks like Tiger Woods’ swing coach has been giving
them batting tips

D'arnaud to the 15 day DL. The Mets communication team really sucks, so do their doctors' first diagnosis on almost every injury...

Can't listen to Terry Collins press conferences anymore. Time for a change.

wally ball ! how worse could it be. our offense and defense have no spine

cuddyer looked 100 yrs old freaking up that play

Met ownership and front office to gutless to do it. At least it would bring some hope and excitement and who knows might actually work. If they don't like job he does in half a season can start fresh next season with a new hire.

Maybe it's time for my medicine, but I think it is time to admit this team needs to be rebuilt. Trade Harvey, DeGrom, Familia and anybody else on the 40. Get the best AA players you can and admit failure. Oh and one other thing: Send Sandy to the unemployment line.

Trade Harvey and DeGrom for AA players? Yeah, time for your medication :)

Agree 100% with the Alderson comment but this team does not have to start over; their starting pitching pretty much matches up with anyone; need a GM who will do away with the ridiculous "moneyball" approach to hitting and put some importance to defense. Problem is by the time they turn the position players around all the pitchers will be gone free agent because the Wilpons will not pay them.

Nothing against him, but when Lucas Duda is your star power and best hitter in the lineup, something is horribly wrong and needs to change
