time to get Diekman a ticket to Syracuse. OOPS there goes another one into left field stands.Bullpen time again lol, not a great start

Diaz needs one more out but this has become quite the scaretime to get Diekman a ticket to Syracuse. OOPS there goes another one into left field stands.
its comical at this point... their turn-around has had to make mgmt "buyers" at this point... hopefully we get 1 reliable arm that can sustain a lead post 5th inning...Every game is the same. Offense mashes to a sizable lead and bullpen almost pisses it all away. The good news the majority of the time the emphasis is on “almost”. Stearns has to find a couple of ML reasonably priced arms. I gotta believe someone is looking to dump some salary somewhere. This is beyond ridiculous how bad some of these bullpen guys have been.
But Bhutto and Nunez combined for the best bullpen outing of the year……Scott with another very up and down showing, my impression of him is the same I had last year of Baty, an Al McGuire airport player.
I’m fine with what Scott has done this year, a 4.3 era from a 25 yr old rookie.Scott with another very up and down showing, my impression of him is the same I had last year of Baty, an Al McGuire airport player.
Then we just disagree, he looks better than he pitches, he’s 25 years old and on a pitch count, struggles to even go 5.I’m fine with what Scott has done this year, a 4.3 era from a 25 yr old rookie.
Next year we lose all the 10mil+ one year rentals- Severino, hauser, Manaea, Quintana.
I don’t think we must sign a top starter this winter- I’m fine with
1) senga
2) peterson
3) Scott
4) Butto
5). a 1 yr rental ?
Top depth- Sproat & Tidwell, but they both could make team in ‘25.
**** depth behind them:
Megill, Jarvis
Not saying he’s a #1-2 in the making, but you mentioned innings-Then we just disagree, he looks better than he pitches, he’s 25 years old and on a pitch count, struggles to even go 5.
Now, that’s my first impression and no way I will say I couldn’t be wrong but I have seen nothing to think he is more than a journeyman in the making.
Manaea is signed unless he opts out. He’d be passing up $13.5 million to do so. I don’t see it. Houser is only making $5.5 million for 1 year.I’m fine with what Scott has done this year, a 4.3 era from a 25 yr old rookie.

And the huge contracts still on our 24 books come off- verlander, scherzer
We’re paying 3 catchers in 24 no longer on team-McCann nido & narvaez
Plenty of room to sign 2 big bats

I was talking Scott, I never mentioned any other Met pitcher, if that is your bar, that is your bar, it is not mine. Not saying he’s a #1-2 in the making, but you mentioned innings-
Mets starters innings/start 2024:
Severino. 6.1
Quintana 5.3
Manea. 5.3
Peterson. 5.4
Scott. 5.4
Scott is 25, Peterson is 28, above other 3 are 30+. Scott on an innings watch
because it’s July 13 & he’s already matched his 2023 tot innings
If Sean Manaea can get get that money I’d wish him luck.Correct on hauser.
At this rate no way manaea doesn’t opt out. He’s having best year in his career. If he opts out of 13.5,
at this rate he gets 50 mil+ over 3 years ( I’d love to get him back on Mets in 25 for that)
He gives up far too many homers. Then we just disagree, he looks better than he pitches, he’s 25 years old and on a pitch count, struggles to even go 5.

Rubbed off on Quintana today. He gives up far too many homers.
