Mets 2024 Season

Last part is interesting, and described differently than the day it happened. Mets need to be the first team to raise his salary by 4mill and then Soto can decide to opt out. If we raise it, he can't opt out.

I liked the other way better.

Who in their right mind would want a $75M signing bonus?

Think of all the taxes you'd have to pay on that!

The Soto presser is at 3 p.m. today. Thinking that we have locked up Soto and Lindor for quite some time is unbelievable. Stearns now needs to carefully add pieces around them to build a championship team. Some of those pieces are already in place. Vientos, Diaz, Nimmo, Senga. The Mets also have an “improving” farm system and of course Cohen’s money. Everything doesn’t have to happen today. They still lack front line pitching and bullpen. You have to believe that over the next few years all of that can be addressed in a big way. Great time to be a Mets fan. Lord knows we’ve taken enough punishment.

Stearns saying yesterday that we will always be in win-now mode, with the context of the organization's competence, really hit me how much of a special run we can (and likely) will have for the foreseeable future. The suffering will have been worth it.

That’s what good ownership will do for a franchise. I think ownership has put too much faith in Lou, but look at the Isles since Malkin/Ledecky came in. I now need Levy/ENIC to sell Spurs and Woody to sell the Jets.

Well there you have it. Juan saw everything the 2024 Mets did. Not just the winning, but the close knit unit they became and the vibes they had. The 2024 NYM is one of the most important teams in franchise history IMO. Definitively shifted the culture

“Little brother”, “take back the town”….c’mon this is the infantile back and forth of 6th graders in a schoolyard. Whatever makes someone feel better I guess but this is not something I’d expect coming from Vaccaro.

No one cares. All I see is Soto in Queens and I’m dying to see what’s next.
