Hopefully.
But then again I thought an infield of ballyhooed prospects Dave Madigan, Greg Jeffries, Kevin Elster was going to bring us to glory in the early 90s.
And that was before Generation K. Sigh.

We tried it briefly in 2022 when he came back from an injury. Worth another try.I'm obviously not saying this to disagree. I think the lack of pitching development the last ten years is the reason why the team's been so up and down.
But in the short-term, we can look forward to:
Bryce Montes de Oca. He is finally healthy and in AAA. He was expected to be a major part of the bullpen last year, and will be up soon enough. He throws 102...
Eric Orze. He has an incredible story of battling back from cancer. Apparently team is high on him.
It's crazy to think we could've lost Nunez from the Rule 5 draft but his injury made him come back to us. Guy looks like a stud.
I also think the Mets should convert MeGill back to a reliever. It was a success story to make him a big league starter. But, unless he can harness his stuff consistently in Syracuse, the Mets need him to take on a Seth Lugo role with this team for years to come & give us 2 innings out of the pen.
My internet stream goes down right as the bottom of the eighth started. By the time I get the damn thing up it’s a 1-0 loss. Imagine sitting through that poor offensive showing and not seeing our magical bullpen give it up. Oh well. If I didn’t see it did it really happen? And yet another “right from jump street” bullpen failure. Does the Mets bullpen EVER throw a scoreless inning?
Obviously the offense pretty much couldn’t have been worse but still……
Agree. I’m a hard no to selling right nowTrue pitchers duel and for most of the day seemed like no one would score . Nimmo gets the big hit we are up 1-0 and With Nunez and the Diaz I’m thinking. We’re good. Nope we choke it away.
Then Chapman does Diaz like things. Mets had some great ABs (Alvarez, Bader, Iglesias) and finally Lindor. Wow. Feels good to see them pull it out. Second most comeback wins in baseball. Team hasn’t given up. That’s good. I’m sick of “selling”.
Then Chapman does Diaz like things.
In fact the Mets have been a thorn in the side of Aroldis Chapman. Thought this was interesting.Chapman has been doing Diaz like things before Diaz.
Neither the new GM or manager have done a thing to impress me; they certainly deserve a fair chance but my first impression of both is just an indifferent shrug, same old, same old.Why take your starter out after he got two quick outs to start the inning? Our bullpen gives up 5 runs before they can get the last out. Terrible
