Mets 2024 Season

He was just named the Mets Minor League Pitcher of the year.

Jett Williams was named the Minor League player of the year after becoming the first Mets position player drafted out of high school to reach Double-A in the following calendar year since Gregg Jefferies in 1986.

I would be disappointed if Binghamton didn’t win their league with all that talent.
Please don't compare anyone to Jefferies. I still have like 50 of his rookie cards. I ran out of room in my bike spikes to put them in...

A little before my time but he actually had a nice career looking back (mostly after leaving the Mets) if you separate it from the hype. The expectations and pressure were just completely unfair for him.

.290 career hitter with .344 OBP. He hit .342 and stole 46 bases for the Cardinals one season. 3rd in ROY voting and 2x All-Star.

Binghamton Mets lost game 1 of the championship series tonight. The top prospects did really well, however. Jett Williams had 4 (FOUR) walks and 2 runs scored. He was thrown out trying to steal, though, which is rare for him. Parada got the start at catcher and was 3-5 with an RBI. Gilbert was 2-5 with 3 RBI. Acuna was 2-5. Blade Tidwell allowed 3 earned through 5...his first non-lights out playoff performance. The game was rained out yesterday so that may have played a factor.

Two paths to take…all-in with Shohei and wildly expensive roster or add a few decent pitchers (the pair of Japanese guys being posted) and build up bullpen. Maybe get Cody Bellinger of the price is right.

I’m fine with either as a fan.
I understand that the Yankees are willing to make Stanton available. :)

BMets lost last night. Think 10-0. Nothing positive from any of the prospects that I could see from the box score. AA prospects so they are getting closer. Now get us some pitching both front and back end!

So if the Mets get both Japanese guys and sign Shohei will this be the first team in the majors to have 4 Japanese starters? I would love to have the sushi concession
Senga can be a big factor in these deals. Buck has seemed to utilize him excellently in transition to MLB from the JLeague. Did not put him on schedule of someone brought up in our scheduling but took into consideration his usage under the JLeague constraints.

We shat the bed at the 2022 trading deadline with bizarre, lackluster trades. Those moves compounded into a horrendous 2022 finish.

THEN we failed to address those needs this offseason.

This move reeks of Steinbrenner-era Yanks.

The lieutenants led the platoon into a massacre so let's execute the Sargeant.

Its not Bucks fault that all he got at DH was Vogelbach. Wasn't Bucks fault that the bullpen was woefully thin. I could go on.. Buck should have stayed and Eppler shit canned.

And Buck certainly didnt injure Scherzer and Verlander, then make them pitch inconsistently, then trade them when healthy. Didn't force Diaz to pitch in the World Classic, didnt injure Quintana, wasnt the reason half the team hit .220. Yes and Vogelbach stinks.

They just fired their best mgr in a long long time.

Yes, but it was Buck’s fault he kept putting Vogelbach in the lineup. He also had an allergy to playing the kids.

There came a point during the season, when we all saw this was not a playoff team, yet Buck kept putting the vets in.

I thank Buck for last season, but something happened this year. He could not stop the bleeding, as the Mets went from one extreme to the other in one season.

And they are bringing in a new President of Baseball Ops, and he needs to have a clean slate.
