I said they weeks ago. My only concern is we won’t get good enough prospects in return. If we eat the salaries we need too 5 level prospects. If they don’t win the next two games, it’s time to sell. Everyone except Alonso, Lindor, Alvarez, Nimmo, Baty should be made available. I would trade Alonso but the price would be comparable to Soto.
Vientos and Maurico should be playing every day after the deadline.
Let’s get some pitching prospects, use Cohen’s money to maximize return, and move on. I appreciate his ambition to win a World Series right away, but we’re paying the price for the Wilpons and BVV’s mismanagement over the last decade by having no pitching prospects in the pipeline. We cannot win by paying free agents every summer, need to focus on building the right way.
Such a 2023 Mets game. You can’t even trust them at 11-4. The only thing different was that they “held on”.Gott "ain't gott it".........again!
2023 difference was a win. Have to feel Coach Pitino was the keySuch a 2023 Mets game. You can’t even trust them at 11-4. The only thing different was that they “held on”.
Reminds me of the old story about the 1962 Mets. Guy is at a bar. He asks another guy how’d the Mets do? The guy says they scored 10 tonight! The guy looks over at him and says yeah but did they win?
The other version of this is a guy at the boxing match. I think Jimmy Breslin came up with this. Nothing ever comes easy.
Don’t get to use to him. Andy Martino is reporting that teams have contacted the Mets about trading for him. He might not be here too long. Multiple scouts were at today’s game.Looks good through five most of the hits early were not hard contact. Throws strikes.
As to Pete, the injured wrist might have needed more time to really heal.Don’t get to use to him. Andy Martino is reporting that teams have contacted the Mets about trading for him. He might not be here too long. Multiple scouts were at today’s game.
Bigger issue is what the hell is going on with Pete Alonso? His season has turned into a nightmare.
Agree, but he has lost the discipline of working the pitcher for good pitches to hit but is not alone, for whatever reason the whole team has almost from opening day. In a lot of ways they have reverted to a home run or nothing team, the team that worked pitchers for those 30+ pitch innings just disappeared. As to Pete, the injured wrist might have needed more time to really heal.
I just dont understand how 1 year we go fram amazing plate disciple to this. Almost the entire team. That was the key to success last year IMOAgree, but he has lost the discipline of working the pitcher for good pitches to hit but is not alone, for whatever reason the whole team has almost from opening day.
