Mets can't "carry" Vogelbach any more. Would be happy if he hit his weight (270) as he would be near leading the team in hitting but .203 ain't getting it done (he is striking out 1 time in every 3 at bats.
Time to bring up Mauricio even if he doesn-t have position to fill and put him in DH on an everyday basis and see if he can hit ML pitching yet.

You are of course right. How can this guy be the DH? He’s not the only problem but he ain’t helping. Buck keeps putting him in the lineup and it just can’t be justified. They can bring up Mauricio but they still haven’t even given Vientos a fair opportunity. Hard to tell if he can play since he has been used so sporadically. Why not give him a week or two?

The Alonso injury should lead to Vientos playing EVERYDAY. He has not looked good BUT…they need to find out. This season is just about lost. Our pitching is a horror show. Nothing really can be done at this point. We are not contenders because of it. (pitching)
The Mets should also bring up Mauricio (Alonso roster spot) and let’s see if he is any good. DFA Voglebach and simply replace him with Guillorme who can backup Mauricio at 2B for late inning defense. They probably do NONE of that but they are kidding themselves if they think this team is contending.
Next up should be looking to deal guys like Canha and Escobar as they are in contract years and won’t be back anyway. Pham should be on that list as well. That is for the trade deadline but nothing should be off the table now.

It is so telling how bad the Mets pitching is when consistently their staff gives up runs immediately upon getting a lead. Just happened again, Mets score in the top 2nd, up 1-0, Megill gives two runs right back in the bottom of the inning on a two out hit to a guy hitting .176!
