Mets 2024 Season

As to Vogelbach, doesn't he havf any options to go down to Syracuse? If no options why not DFA him and if no claims him (duh) they could send him down. Spending time with a shrink ain't gonna help him hit better.

Maybe the problem goes back to offseason and weight loss. He might need to gain 50 pounds so send him on a food tour of Diners, Drive Ins and Dives with Guy Fieri.

If they held on to the kids last year at the deadline when they had a good chance of making of World Series, I doubt they move them now.
You don’t think Eppler would try to keep his job AND if management still thinks we have a shot at a wild card, they wouldn’t try to “improve” the team?

They were virtually guaranteed the divi…uh, I mean wild card last year. I think they were arrogant enough to think those little baby crap moves they made were enough to get a WS.

Not to mention those baby crap moves involved players who are killing it with Pittsburgh and the Cincinnati AAA team. Won’t even talk about Ruf.

I don’t see Cohen as an impetuous owner. I do not think he will allow Eppler to trade for the sake of this season.

Cohen is more long term, with the way he speaks about the Dodgers having a large payroll and a good farm system.

The way this season has gone, just take the win a run. The Mets are in no position to look at style points.
I’m not talking about style points. I’m talking about the hopeless road to nowhere. Pitching is a shambles, hitting ain’t great and fielding is now suspect. The Mets haven’t had a “sharp” performance for most of the season.

It was a really fun game to go to, but my wife was unhappy I was grumpy for 90% of it. At this point, it's hard to see this team building on any win -- whether it's the mental mistakes, pitchers looking old (Max not Verlander), etc.

I understand. That’s why just take the wins whenever they get them.

If the Mets somehow put together a string of 8-2 over the next 10 games (of course they have not given us much hope of accomplishing that), then we can look at how “sharp” they are playing.

I hope you’re right. I still don’t understand why he hired Eppler in the 1st place but that’s ancient history at this point.

Heyman is the king of the “not really news“ article. This has been widely reported (suspected?) for at least two years. This article just regurgitated old info and nothing can happen until after this season.

The Mets have left this position open and many have suspected Cohen wants to fill it with Stearns (Rumored?) Stearns from what I understand grew up a Mets fan from New York. The Milwaukee Owner was/is not really thrilled to look like he’s getting bullied by the big market Mets so he won’t let Stearns out of his contract. Cohen is not exactly loved by other owners.

Maybe Vogelbach could try swinging the bat before he gets two strikes on him. That could be a good shift in strategy...
So, just turned the Mets on to see Vogelbach, down 4-3, 2 outs bottom 8, man on first, take a fast ball right down the middle, swing at a low change up, then at another one in the dirt.:ROFLMAO: Just have no idea what the Mets saw/see in him, a complete mystery………..

So to just make Vogelbach’s at bat look better, In the 9th, Guillorme strikes out on a 2-2 pitch high and outside, Nimmo and Marte on 3 pitches each, they have become an unwatchable team
