Met 2017 Season thread

I'm so angry I have to watch the new Dave Chapelle thing on netflix to cheer me up

Everybody else could see it coming but not dumb, blind effing Terry. He should have been fired after the game. That loss is totally on him. How long until Salas' arm falls off?

Unbelievable! Any other time Collins puts Blevins in to pitch to Yelich, instead he doesn't even have ready. Collins keeps making these asshole decisions he won't have to wait until the end of the season whether to retire. Also it was a no brainer to rest Salas, especially since deGROM was blowing them away.

Even if he allows Salas (which he did) to pitch to Yelich and give up a HR, why does he allow Salas (clearly shaken and not sharp) to pitch to Stanton? I would have walked Stanton and had him go after Bour! In fact when he did bring Blevins in he struck Bour out. Too late. Frustrating, but Mets need to forget it and get after it tomorrow.

Because he doesn't have a clue, seems like a good man handling people, horrible in game manager.

Don't you guys know...Salas is the 8th inning guy, so he HAS to pitch the 8th inning. That's how baseball works now.

Seriously, what a dunce. Bringing in Blevins to face Bour only compounded that.

When asked after the game why he didn't allow deGrom to start the eight inning Collins went off on the reporters. When are you guys going to realize these guys have come off surgery and deGrom was up 100 pitches (actually 97). Didn't see the whole interview but I would be surprised if they didn't question his brain dead decision not to have Blevins ready for Yelich. Still can't get over it.

Have we ever had a worse 3 game stretch of losses ?

Mike, at least Harvey didn't get the loss.I hope I am wrong but I believe Reyes is finished, especially as a starter. Can't have his type of player hitting fly balls or striking out.. Has to have a brutal on base percentage thus far. Put him on bench and let Flores become the permanent third basemen. It will be interesting to see what our brain dead manager does on Tuesday.

Got the answer after Sunday's game. Collins," We got to get Jose started."

It's baffling to me you have the #1 prospect in baseball in Vegas. Couple that with Reyes who is getting paid virtually nothing by the Mets and is cooked IMO. Why not bench him and get this kid contributing right away?

While I agree that starting the 8th inning, especially in warm weather miami, seemed like a good idea (especially in hindsight), every one of our starters have had major arm, elbow, or should problems. A game in April is not the time to stretch the limits, especially for a guy who has gone through dead arm periods. Given all that as much as Collins can be criticized elsewhere, his response is acceptable to me.

The prospect, Rosario, is a shortstop, don't think they want to replace Cabrera .Plus Flores really deserves to play third.

Flores=platoon player.

Yeah didn't think I had to spell out his name smh.

Pretty sure Cabrera could move to 3B. Don't know what games you've been watching to say flores deserves to do anything but pinch hit or start against lefties.

I like Flores as a player. Duda is a free agent next year so let Flores play 1st next year if you aren't going to put him at 3rd.

I'd definitely like to see him play more at 3rd this year however if Reyes doesn't get going soon.

Anyone going to the game on saturday ? I just got tix. Supposedly sold out but prices were reasonable on stub hub. Got pretty good seats in 122 for not crazy price
