If this is the type of hire we make I may seriously consider not caring about this program nearly to the extent I do now. Just a mess. Will always root for the program, but may not be spending tons on merch, games, etc. if we are acting like a mid major with coaches. Why bother when we are setup for failure by clown admins?

MSG and Carnesecca would have to be empty, yeah there could be a few thousand of the opponent fans, but sju fans can't show up, and don't donate.

Absolutely. I am at every game (MSG and CA) with my son. Unless this takes another wicked turn, I will not attend a single contest next year.

I dont believe for a second they will hire him as a coach. This smells of a diversion. Offer a crap sandwich so peanut butter and jelly looks ok

Now I’ll pay half max buy not getting season tix

I can't believe it's come to this.... I have enjoyed my SJU season tickets through the years, but I can't support the dysfunction anymore. If James freaking Jones is hired I'm done with this team and with the school. They will never get another penny from me again until "Bobby" and Oliva are canned.
I have gotten so many texts, and calls from friends and family members who are asking about what the heck is going on at SJU. I'm literally too embarrassed to even respond at this point. I used to be a proud alumni, but now I just want to put a paper bag over my head.
At least it looks like the Knicks will be relevant next year. I'll need something to watch in the winter.

I dont know much about Jones other than the mediocre record.
Any chance Gemp and admin are pursuing Jones for more racial diversity in search process?
For all sports, there are only 4 African-American coaches right now....all on Womens side in assistant positions....basketball (2), track & tennis

Pretty sure I remember posters saying that FH picked Norm for that reason too. Diversity for the sake of diversity isn't going to work. You want a black coach, pony up $3 million and get Leonard Hamilton. At least we'll have a black coach who'll win.

SO TRUE! They pulled the old Vince Macmahon and turned Cluess face! They took a coach in a vacuum would be at 'best' underwhelming hire and at worst an unmitigated disaster and some how got people convinced that he's the only savior.
My knew 'realistic' top 10 for STJ
1. Shaheen Holloway 2. Bob Richey 3. Louis Orr 4. Thunder Dan Majerle (he probably wouldn't leave the south west) 5. Lorenzo Romar 6. Matt Langel 7. Jon Scheyer 8. Pat Kelsey 9. Darian DeVries 10. St Jean
