Enough about Posh already. Thats it period end of sentence. Move On. Ughh
I have tried to not think too much about Posh, as what's done is done. But given our glaring lack of defensive ability, it's becoming harder and harder. The guy won Big East Defensive Player of the Year, he gave 1000% on the court. Painful to see him at Butler.

Doesn't most plays usually start and go through the guy playing the point?

Maybe nobody feels comfortable out there dribbling or creating because they can't.
No. Basketball has evolved to be 4 guys handling and creating. Very few teams rely on one player like we do…and our one guy is a SF that thinks he’s a true PG.

It’s a chicken and egg argument here. What came first? Is Jenkins and his complete lack of conscience the answer to nobody having any confidence or is his lack of a conscience and domination of the ball the reason nobody else feels confident?

You know where I land. This team needs to share the ball and pick spots and find favorable matchups. You can’t live and die with an A-10 talent dictating everything.

The only hope left is that Luis gets the ball out of Jenkins hands or his teammates just say enough of this sh*t man. You can’t get 15 shots whenever you want and force every meaningful dribble and pass. You aren’t Marcus Hatten and it was even annoying when Hatten did it.

Had a day to process. We’re going in the right direction long term. We all have faith in Rick. However, we’re probably more in line with Bart T’s projection of the team. I hate to admit but Jeff Goodman was on the money saying how big it was for us not to get Walter Clayton. On to the Fordham game!
Enough with Walter Clayton !
If Jordan Dingle were playing to his projected potential instead of shooting 3-15 Jenkins would be more than a competent replacement for Walt as they were interchangeable at Iona.

Posh made his bed last season when he had attitude issues. He also wanted guarantees, like Storrs, that Pitino was not giving.
This is the world of college basketball today where every player thinks they are as important as the coach.
If there were an academic comparison, it's like the graffiti tagger leaving art class because he thinks he warrants as much attention as the new art professor, Pablo Picasso.
No Banksy analogies please.

Clayton is better than Dingle and exponentially better than Jenkins.
Dingle is shooting 43% and 34% from three. It’s not his fault he has to play with a black hole who doesn’t make him better at all.

Has he struggled? Sure but he’s not even close to as bad as you make him out to be. Why do you dislike Jenkins soooo much??? I hope he goes on a tear soon and you have to apologize to him publicly here lol.

Unfortunately, Dingle didn't shoot 43% and 34% from three against BC which was the major factor in the loss. He shot 20% and 16% from three.
Another factor was that Pitino didn't adjust the defense (or the players just didn't listen) with strange sequences where the BC 7ft center was allowed to bring the ball up court. His 9 assists were another example of how flacid our defense was against him when he had the ball in his hands 20 ft from the basket.
Sorry, but in this particular game, Dingle didn't earn his NIL $.

BTW, In Florida's 3 losses to date, Clayton jr has shot around 27% from the field and has not averaged 6 assists per game as had Jenkins.

It would be annoying if he shot that much shooting the % he shoots and dribbled as much as he does if didn’t have a guy shooting 68% on his team.

I can live with Dingle or Soriano shooting poorly. I can live with Luis shooting poorly when he gets back. I can live with Alleyne shooting poorly (unless it’s off the bounce).

I can’t live with Jenkins shooting poorly.

For the life of me I can’t understand why Taylor has to pick his spots and Jenkins just launches whenever. They look like nearly identical caliber shooters. Taylor also creates a ton for the limited touches he gets.

It just seems so unfair to Taylor and Soriano and Alleyne. Taylor is shooting 43.5% from deep simply because he’s taking the best 2-3 shots he sees all game and passing on the rest. Taylor at one point was playing a nearly flawless game against BC IMO and then he has to watch Jenkins take a step back three early in the shot clock shooting 0-3 from deep in the game? Man that’s rough to take a as player.

If Jenkins had Taylor’s restraint we’d be a one loss team.

Alleyne is shooting 36.4% from 3 this year and 37% for his career Why are we not running plays for him 10x a game? How is a Jenkins 3 better than an Alleyne 3? Or a Dingle 3? Or a Soriano anything? That’s what pisses me off about Jenkins.

Our 2nd best player's, Jenkins, foul trouble limiting his minutes was a major contributing factor to yesterday's defeat. It's big trouble for us when he's not on the court. He needs to play 40 minutes. 8 - 0.

He’s fouled out twice because he can’t defend his position. We are 3-0 when he plays 24 minutes or less.

Is that so? I've heard his coach describe him as "our best defensive player" on multiple occasions. He also led not only all players in our game in steals with 4 in only 26 minutes played, he led the entire 4 game Barclay's Sunday parlay in steals. That 3 - 0 24 minute stat you pulled out your a$$ sure is telling...Not. 67% of that 3 - 0 is us doubling up the score on Catholic school patsies Holy Cross and Sacred Heart in which Pitino rested his 2nd best player to let the scrubs get some run once they were in hand. But don't fret...on my way into Barclay's center I saw Jenkin's kick a small puppy, knock down a grandma using a walker, and sell some meth to a young child. So you have that.

Well, you and others better get over all the Jenkins second guessing because he is the best we have at his position to date. No one else thus far has shown much better. The young Simeon is too error prone. Davis is injured. If it's Daniss Jenkins not following the coaches calls, I would agree, but I think he has Pitino's blessing to be an attacking guard. I would rather see more pick n rolls, better offensive movement by other players to get in position to get free, etc. but in THIS particular game BC smartly took our players out of their comfort zone and they adeptly played rope a dope with Soriano. How else do you explain Quiten Post having NINE ASSISTS?
St . John's had the better team. BC had the better prepared players.
Coaching gets a C- imo.

Johnny Thunderbird was definitely at Barclays before the game as they were warming up. I obviously wasn't tracking his movements during the game, so I can't tell you more than that.
I saw him on tv he walked really fast past the fried chicken stand
