I think you might be thinking of their star two-way player, Travis Hunter, who was injured on a cheap shot after the whistle by a Colorado State player. He did return after missing several games and actually went bowling a few weeks after the incident with the guy that injured him. Hunter is a pro prospect as a Receiver and Corner. Saunders sons stayed relatively healthy through the season.
They are all his sons 😉

Maybe bring Soriano off the bench. Let Jenkins and Ledlum fire away, then have Soriano be main focus of 2nd unit.
Since can’t bring mountain to Mohamed and all.

And no I am not serious, just can’t understand what is so hard about your best player shooting more than not your best player.

Of equal interest, which game did our beloved Big Bird mascot attend?
The Men’s. The BC students behind me wanted to know what it was. I also had to explain what a Redstorm is (I couldn’t) but explained how the name was changed from Redmen ( damn I felt old as this college students weren’t alive when that happened). One of them said his town had to do change their name from Redmen also (he is not from East Islip). I forgot what he said they changed it to but it sure as hell wasn’t Redstorm.

Besides those groups mentioned above, was there even a small St. John's student contingent? I totally missed it. As for BC, after we moved our seats from behind the basket to closer to mid court, we state in front of a row of BC students. Very supportive of their team, loud but not obnoxious.
Finals start Dec 11-16 for our kids. Those damned Ivy guys Dingle and Ledlum have influenced our kids to study harder and make schoolwork a priority! So our kids get a pass.

My son went to BC and graduated a few years ago. They have an immense nyc area alumni group and many active students are from nyc metro. Their own home games have had abysmal attendance in recent years except when they'd play powerhouse ACC teams. Having this many fans at a game for BC was a rare treat for them.

As much as I hate BC for leaving for ACC $$ and football, their basketball belongs in the Big East and would be a great and welcomed add if that were possible.

To my knowledge Posh wanted to stay here. I'm not going into details since whatever happened between him and coach is his own business but i know where i got the info from was reliable.

I did try to verify that with a close friend very close to the program, and he gave me the best advice, which was, "Don't listen to rumors, they are mostly not true and often just defame people."

I wish Posh well, but it appears a defense first guard would be of value here.

As Johnnyfan said a few months ago, 21 year olds make regrettable decisions sometimes. If that's the case, hopefully a life lesson that will help him down the road.

I'm guessing in the end Pitino decided that it wasn't a good fit in terms of chemistry.
Was Posh decision before or after Clayton decided to go to Florida? Could that have been a factor for Posh staying or leaving?

Pitino announced at his opening press conference who he was keeping. The ‘audition’ offered to Posh was a sham and he knew it. Granted, there was a ‘ culture’ issue with last year’s team. Rick should have tried to change it rather than firing almost everybody. If Posh, Storr and Jones were still here, with Rick coaching them, we’d have a tournament team.
So now you went from it being just speculation to a sham? Give it up, unless you are just doing this for comic relief, but then again there is a thread for jokes.

Be fair. Strom still doesn’t know how to core t to Storm. Let’s be nice for now

Wow it just occurred to me that Senator Strom Thurmond's first name probably was a result of a spelling error.

I could make that a lot funnier but won't so a few people don't get bent out of shape. Besides, South Carolina is now one of my favorite states since the Charleston trip.

Well, that and it Mjdinkins home state.

I actually like the spund of the Red Strom. It might make more sense than Red Storm.

Well, that definitely means there are 2 of them. Scary. Unless the Alumni Hall one went to Brooklyn, since the women's game ended around 4 pm.

Had a day to process. We’re going in the right direction long term. We all have faith in Rick. However, we’re probably more in line with Bart T’s projection of the team. I hate to admit but Jeff Goodman was on the money saying how big it was for us not to get Walter Clayton. On to the Fordham game!

There is no doubt that Posh captured many ,, not all of our fan base . And , he did it by relentless hustle , quick hands and playing above his size in grabbing rebounds . We all enjoyed his play . Mostly . But …

He struggled with his shot and we over looked it for 3 years Sometimes .

But , to those who still maintain Posh was a lock down defender , have forgotten the reality of seasons past . Posh , like the guys playing for us now , regularly got best off the dribble by quicker and bigger BE Guards like Carter of Providence or Kolek of Marquette among others . He did have a knack for stealing the ball but , usually down low with the big guys or , from behind from a unaware player .

So , we can all enjoy the moments that Posh gave us during his 3 years here but , conveying he was more than he was as a defender or player isn’t accurate .

It’s unfair to conjure up the idea that a 4 th year. Posh playing for us , would have done any better than the guys wearing the Red and White this year .

That being said , he’s playing well at Butler and good for him . Until we face the Bull Dogs .
