For those @ game, How was Barclay's?
Barclays is a very nice place to watch a college game. We lucked out and $75 had seats 3 rows behind the BC bench which helped with the experience for sure. But what I loved was no long lines to get in, use the bathroom or most importantly get a beer. Clearly not easy to get to from NJ but we were visiting my daughter in Brooklyn and all had a great time other than the result

I had to duck out from around 15:00 to 5:00 in the second half (basically the most important part of the game) so I have to go back and watch that later, specifically whatever issues they seemed to have with the press.

But here's what I don't understand about the defense: It seems like 90% of the screwups seem to be on simple pick and rolls/pops. Like, we're not talking some esoteric defensive concepts about rotations or whatever that they cant grasp. (They switch on nearly every p/r, which drives me crazy, but that's another story). We're not giving up wide open threes. We're giving up waaay too many layups, night after night after night. I'm sorry, that's not "these kids have never played defense before" or something something scouting report. We're not splitting the atom here. Something is wrong.

Who wanted to stay a Johnnie? If you're talking about Posh, while I think RP would have gotten the best out of him, he made his decision.
When your opening press conference states you only want to keep Soraino and Drissa then you are the reason Posh is no longer a Johnny.

Posh unfortunately, to quote CRP was a ‘round peg in a square hole’. (Which is weird in itself because it is usually the hole that is round).

A big disappointment is the three point shooting Pitino is known or putting shooters on the floor and the players brought in had past histories of being competent outside shooters but that hasn’t been the case.
Going four for nineteen is not going to beat many big east teams.

I’m not giving up on year one but year two will be a very fair judgment year imho

IMO, keys to our demise. . .

1) Up 10 and got beat on long pass that we took a risk on - started the downward trend
2) went away from Soriano and started taking jump shots and low % drives
3) DJ gets 4th foul and RP plays Alleyne and Dingle (big mistake as they were very disorganized) - BC recognized that no one wanted ball and stepped up defense
4) BC center (Post) was talented offensively but tissue soft on defense. . .should have been all Soriano all the time (RP mistake)
Even after giving up 10 point lead and going down 7 or so, we regained lead and had opportunity tp go up 7 (Ledlum missed front end of 1-and-1
5) Dingle did not step up

Other than that. . .while the freshman made some errors, RP needs to allow them to play thru 1 or 2 or at least wait a minute or so before you yank them. . .bench guy was up and on way in immediately. . .and that’s where guys like Dingle need to come in. . .upper class guys gotta be able to make up for a few faux pas

Bad loss, BC is not good…should have won this one but let it slip away. Lot of work to do

My God, it’s year one and we’ve played nine games
Well, if the team is not playing defense and they’re not absorbing scouting then what’s the issue. Ledlum and Dingle are Ivy League graduates, there really shouldn’t be much that they can’t absorb.

F the Barclays. I said I wanted us to play more here. Screw that, if the mutt chick with the bazongas didn’t give me her number at McMahons the day sucked. We lost, I’m done with Ivy League Ledlum should get a pizza at L&B. We lose I go to garden get swindled for Ranger tickets by a scumbag. Next Saturday if you’re a scalper I’m ruining your Christmas with my fist, training for Rough N Rowdy looking to spare. Horrible Sunday, Sim should start tired of these MAAC/Ivy League clowns.

I know everyone is disappointed on here but we have a HOF coach 2 4 stars who need some time to adjust to college and 3 4 stars coming next year along with Taylor, Luis, Zuby and Drissa. He's told us from the get go it would be a bumpy ride early, let's see how this plays out! I'm not giving up on this yet! Go Johnnie's in RP I trust!

I hear you.

That said it’s always gonna be frustrating to watch your team lose a winnable basketball game

I feel ya but I'm not giving up on receiving a bid to the NCAA Tournament. Do our part in conference play and we can possibly find ourselves on the "right side" of the bubble.
Dink, in all honesty, do you think this team can win 12 - 13 games in conference? Because, that’s what it’s going to take now to make the tournament.

Pitino, while little time, recruited a lot of seniors.. he expected to win this year.

Would we be better off next year if Pitino didn't recruit as many seniors and filled out with more guys like Luis & Taylor who would have this year to grow into Pitino's expectations and lead as Jr's & Seniors?

We’re ahead of ourselves but I’d be optimistic if we were 11-9 with one win in BET (assuming we don’t take any more unexpected losses in non conf)

Based on what I’ve seen. Not very confident we get there. But also not impossible.

Also remember, if Luis comes back and is a significant contributor for us, committee takes that into account… thats all our losses so far

Jenkins play after we went up 10 completely turned the game around. If Rick can’t weigh him in,!we’d be better off with a tag team of Alleyne, Dingle and Taylor starting.
Who's handling the ball under pressure? None of the three you mentioned are ball handling guards.
