While I admire how tough of a schedule we had last year there is a small problem I had with it.. I am nitpicking here but we shoud avoid games like the one we had at Detroit last year. It was a lose lose situation IMO either we spoiled their big night and ppl say we were supposed to win anyway or we lose on national tv to a small program who albeit was expected to be better than they were last year. I like the games against the St Mary's and u San Fran's of the world because they serve a greater purpose in terms of recruiting and further spreading our brand nationwide but that game against Detroit last year was a special case which I don't foresee us participating in again in the future against a similar club.

If this team gels rather quickly this team could go 12-4 against this schedule.
So what games do you think end up on campus v at MSG ?
Gotta figure USF, Seton Hall, and probably Depaul are at CA, right?
What about Rutgers?
4 conference games on campus would be a lot.
For a first glance in June and I see 11-7, maybe 13-5.
Lets not write off USF as an on campus game anymore. They went to the NCAA's last year.

Exactly. I'm going with 12, but I don't see us lower than 11. We should be the favorite in all of our home games.

I'm not saying we shouldn't be, or we can't win all our home games.
But I think UCONN, Pitt, Georgetown, Marquette, and ND will all be favored over us heading into the season.
I'd definitely bet on us over UCONN, but I just don't think we will be favored. We need to show something before we're favored over those teams.

I have a different view. I think UConn and Marquette have lost too much to be favored over us. Pitt has also lost some key players, but has some good ones coming in...I think we'll be favored since we're home. Since ND does not play well against our style on the road, they'll be favored in South Bend and we'll likely be favored at home. I'll agree on Georgetown.
Edit: Basically, I agree with Marillac, although Georgetown may be a stretch.

You guys could both be right. And I don't say it because I don't think we'll be good... in almost every case if we were underdogs I think I'd want to bet on that game. I just think people don't think highly of us against brand name schools until we start winning a few. By midseason we could very well be favorited in some of these games. So you guys could be right.
