Basketball schedule

 It gives us TV exposure.

I know.
But it doesn't change the fact there is a lot of games in short time frame there.
Just my opinion but personally I wouldn't play the DET game. But Lav loves ESPN games and who can blame him. Thankfully this year we have depth to combat 4 games in a week.

I'm kinda with you on this. But, I'm glad we will have the increased depth for this, this year.

I think with the amount of talent and depth that we're going to have this year the more games we can play early in the year will help this team to gel quicker. I think the better off we'll be come conference play.

One good thing about this game (since I pusedo-bashed it earlier):

I think bringing teams like Detriot and South Carolina into our place is a great thing. These are the types of games we need to get CA rocking on a regular basis. One or two lapdogs is allright, but getting upper mid-major teams, and teams expected to finish low in major conferences, can really fill CA, and get the students excited on campus.

 It gives us TV exposure.

Does it though? How many people are watching at 2pm on a Tuesday?
It's not like we're playing Duke or Kentucky in primetime.

Opening day of a new basketball season?

I'd say a little more than a few.

ESPN will be pumping storylines about Lavin's return to good health, Mike Dunlap going to the Bobcats, Harkless getting drafted, Amir playing for the Reds, etc.

Lavin is close to those ESPN guys like Andy Katz, Dick Vitale, Biancardi, etc.

It's great exposure.

I guarantee playing so many games bunched together in November will help bigtime when this team suits up for the BE tourney in mid-March

Very cool to see Lavin schedule that exhibition game against the fellow cancer survivor who appeared on TV with him last year.

Sad that the Duke series has to end.

From that list of non-conference games, 9-3 should probably be the worst-case scenario depending on how the Charleston Tourney goes.

I also think it could help us down the road.

Not blown away by the OOC schedule and hate seeing no more home-and-aways with Duke but this schedule will give the group much needed confidence and a strong chance to gel.

The Duke game was a big money game for MSG. I'd really like to know what happened here.

More home games than I remember having last year. I think we can rack up some wins and getting to 20 shouldn't be such a task this year.

It is a let down. I was planning on going to the Duke game and the UCLA game and neither of them are being played. If we don't get Baylor in the Charelston Classic then I don't see us getting much competition other than the South Carolina game. Weak OOC scehdule.

Here is the schedule ina printable format.

Murray State returns quite a few of their core.

EDIT: They do return quite a few players, but 3 of their top 5 scorers are gone (Isaiah Canaan returns). Nevertheless, I still think they could be a thorn.

Weak. I am very disappointed there will be no Duke or UCLA matchups. This schedule will produce 23-25 wins.

They're going to have to hit 23-25 because anything lesser with an early out in the BE tourney and we'd be on the wrong side of the RPI rankings and thus the NCAA bubble.

They're pretty much going to have to run the table at CA and with the looks of the schedule, that is very doable.

It all depends on how they do in the conference. They could be short of 23-25 wins, but if they are like 11-7 in the conference, then they are getting in the NCAA tournament.

They could have a hiccup or two in the non-conference games, but I don't see them totally crapping the bed in the non-conference games.
