Basketball schedule

boy...that robbins gives the school and the league a real hatchet job. what's with that?

msg hosts acc tournament? jeez...
Unfortunately the thaught of the ACC tourny being played at MSG if the BE dismantles is not farfetched, although it is depressing.

first..the article says lavin agreed to move the HOME game to brooklyn...so, i'll deduce it's a home game.

second...why would a conference with it's two all time basketball teams in north carolina move its game all the way north to MSG? why not the staples center?
the ACC is more of a traditional conference...unlike the big east with it's collection of transients.

Im not saying as of now the ACC tourny will move to MSG. Im saying an ACC made up of UCONN, Rutgers and Syracuse might. I hope it never happens though. Include Pitt and BC , it would not be the southern conference it was.

The master of stirring the pot at work.

The NY Post continues to be nothing more than a last ditch resort replacement for toilet paper.  Slightly OT but also the majority of media members for that matter and their entitlement is baffling.

He really comes across as ignorant. Does he not know that teams like St. John's (recent results aside) don't agree to play teams like St. Francis at 2000 seat gymnasiums....this is standard operating procedure. There is nothing in it for us to travel to places like this...Playing at Barclay's is a different story

I believe this is to incite Johnnie fans who have given him a hard time in the past. It also could be a love tap to Braica ex beloved Roberts assistant. Who knows, but certainly his ACC comments are just as wild as any amateur internet blogger.

How much do you want to bet we are the first game LOL

My guess is going to be Fordham first- Michigan 2nd and us 3rd actually.

I hope so, we should not be relegated to an opening game in our own City.

St. Francis is the home tenant. Pretty sure the other games were already announced. Def the Michigan game. Sandwich the locals on the front and back end with the 2 big out of town teams in the middle. Steady crowd for the games IMO.

This was our home game, so we had all the leverage.

I think STJ-St. Francis will draw over 10,000 alone. I can't see WV-Michigan drawing too much more, but this triple-header could be close to a sellout. It will be Jamal Branch's first game too I think.

I still think it's inexcusable STJ v. SF/LIU Broklyn is not the first college game at Barclays.

STJ St Francis will draw 10k alone? I think you are off by 2 or 3 grand.

Part of the SEC/Big East Challange.

No word on if we are playing them at CA, or MSG. I would guess the latter, because they are from a major conference, but the Gamecocks don't strike me as being a huge draw.

STJ Twitter feed said it would be at CA which I think is awesome. Should be great atmosphere.

I think I agree with you on that, and I'm ususally an advocate for MSG games, since I don't drive.

Frank Martin and his personality in the sauna known as CA is a recipe for a fun night.

Me too. Doesn't MSG host some college tournament the weekend after Thanksgiving usually? It's not the 2k classic we played in last year - is it the pre-season NIT? Or Jimmy V? Something else?
I think that could be why.

I forgot about Martin taking that job. He's may lose 10 lbs. that night. I expect the students to be at there best that night.

Pre-season NIT is sandwiched around Thanksgiving. Add in a late start for NYR and Knicks because of summer construction and you have limited dates.

Also remember last time we played in this we played Georgia and there was nobody there................Until Kentucky Uconn tipped off 2nd and the place packed up. It wasn't a season ticket game and having it at CA probable ensures season ticket holders getting the game.

Probably exactly what South Carolina wanted, a chance to showcase themselves to their NY pipeline. Too bad they will have to come away with a loss that night :)

IMO, we should definitely win this game. He's lost two pretty decent players (Demontre Harris and Anthony Gill) and one of 'em (Bruce Ellington) will have recently finished playing football.
