This leaves a little hope. I'd be happy if he qualifies for next semester. This kid was going to help this team this season. This is a big loss if he is gone for the full season.
It would be interesting to read the identity of the 3rd party in the NY press. The full story should be reported on.
IPer otis, Lavin didn't ignore the 2014 recruiting class. He just couldn't close. So, which is it? I doubt you know, but it sounds good.... to you.
MJ,
The above statement regarding Mr. Lavin's multiple strikeouts during the 2014 recruiting cycle is based upon information provided by Rivals. According to Rivals, Mr. Lavin and his hard working staff made 15 offers during the 2014 recruiting cycle and only ADR accepted his offer.
Here is a list of the players which Rivals lists as players who rejected Lavin's offer during the 2014 cycle:
Tyrelll
Mudley
Cartwright
Whitehead
Williams
Carrington
McCullough
Larrier
Cunningham
Chukuou
Okonoboh
Dastrup
Jackson
Greer.
Note the above list does note include the several transfers that were identified on this site.
Note also that Rivals lists also 15 players who Mr. Lavin has offered this 2015 recruiting cycle and as of this date none have accepted his offer despite the fact that there will be at least 6 openings next season. Ten of the 15 have already committed to another school.
Although I share your hope that Briscoe commits this Thursday that will still leave 5 more roster positions to be filled with not a whole lot of uncommitted players left.
YESSSSS!!!!!
I wonder what entrance music Otis would have in the WWE? I wish there was a theme song would play every time someone read his posts.
After reading the post by Otis I would like a role call of everyone that thinks Lavin is a great recruiter and why.

I agree, are we thinking Cal as the third party or Arbitello? Shady either way

Almost makes me want to stop being a sports fan
That would make my wife one very happy lady

There are some uncomfortable facts regarding the StJohn's basketball program which many of the posters like to gloss over such as the fact that in year 5 of Mr. Lavin's leadership StJohn's will compete this semester with just 9 scholarship players, 4 less that the NCAA allowed 13.

As, much as I want for all my teams to win (and, that is badly).... I don't take this stuff as seriously, as I once did years ago. It's a diversion from life itself. A form of entertainment.
My zest for winning is still the same. I've certainly never been a "good" loser (was probably considered, a "poor" loser at one point). I would stew over losses for a couple days (or longer, depending on the game or what was at stake). But there are more important things in life, where as I'm not mentally/emotionally bogged down by sports any longer.
The hits keep on coming, where is my vodka.

Wait, this is the post that finally turned you? He's been posting the same drivel nearly verbatim for a year.
You just made Otis' week. Luckily his reaction was caught on film:
Funny video. Don't be surprised to see him on the layup line at the NJIT game.

You are 100% correct Dinkins. In August I was diagnosed with a abdominal mass which my doctors thought was cancer. After 2 grueling weeks prior to surgery I had to deal with the prospects that maybe my life would be coming to an end. Fortunately they were wrong, and my tumor was a benign hemangioma! After that ordeal I look at life very differently. Sure I love SJU basketball, but at the end of the day it is just a game! Enjoy it for what it is, entertainment!

Wow! Extremely glad things worked out for you. Keeping it all in perspective, as Jnaw stated.
Once again, glad to hear the good news.
