Adonis not Eligible?

there has to be more to this then that. There are companies that guarantee they will raise your score 200 points if you pay them and take their course. Has to be more than a 200 point score increase.

I used to teach the math portion of this course back in the '80's
They would guarantee that they would raise your overall score by 200 points
Read the fine print - you have to attend every class, do every bit of every HW assignment, etc
I don't know of any student that ever received any compensation after the fact

what are the allegations? Is there anything definitive; or are we just going off of partial information?

The guys getting paid to cover this team have to do their jobs. Anyone can post anything here and half of us run with it as if it is factual.

You very well might be right in many cases but what do you get out of this board if that's how you react to anything that is said here and not said by a beat reporter?

I get plenty out of the boards. Here are just three of them; 1)Maher's one liners, 2)Paultz's links that he posts minutes after they are published, and 3) opinions from other Johnny fans like you who know a lot more than I do.

One thing I learned over the course of 15 years of posting and reading is that people can post false stories with no risk or harm. A beat reporter can lose their job and career by printing or posting a story that they know is false.

FWIW...on Friday night I heard third hand that one the beat writers said it was not the CTK coach. Now I don't know what the truth is, but I know that if he runs with the story he will do so after having to verify the facts.

I have a pretty wide net of people I can lean on for information. And I've heard that story for a variety of people who have no affiliation with each other. I subscribe to where there is smoke there is fire theory.

I just find posts like the one you posted above where you are dismissive of those who share info a little head scratching. Because without those who share some info they hear these boards would be a pretty boring place.

I agree that the allegation made the board more interesting. However, the follow-up posts took it at face value without any evidence. It may be truthful, but I have my doubts about it and want to see the beat writers do their job and identify the third party. They know who it is. It should be printed to clear this guys name, or force him to explain why he would screw a kid who played for him.

It's actually one of the reasons I rarely post what I hear anymore. When you say what you hear and some don't like it you get dragged thru the mud.

Moose, don't let them bring you down. Be assured that most of the people on this board, myself included, have always looked forward to reading your posts, and I think I can speak for them when I say we're hoping you get back to posting as frequently as you used to.

I never saw ADR play prior to his recruitment and felt he was brought in show a SJU / NYCHS connection .
I may have drank some SJU kool aid but in observing him strictly in warm ups these past few games he seems to have very good ball handling and shooting skills for a player his size.
He needs a personal trainer , a dietician and constant pushing from the coaching staff but I feel he would become a productive player .

I agree. He could.

Great you guy agree but what does he think, and more important what will he do?

I will go out on a limb and assume he thinks he can contribute, or he wouldn't have chosen to come here. As for what he'll do, that has yet to be seen. IMO he has the skills to play at this level, but he has a very very long way to go before he develops the conditioning and body-type he'll need to play at this level. Frankly, even if he's even cleared academically, I would red-shirt him this year and make him bust his tail all year in the gym, eating right, etc. Let him tone up and have him come back as a beast next year.

I would agree with redshirting ADR if we had a viable backup for Obekpa
But, we don't - Jones is clearly not the answer and Dom can't play the 5
We have not been to the NCAA's in 3 years and need to get there now
Especially because we will be in rebuild mode once again next year
If ADR clears, I would definitely play him this season
I wish we had another backup option to consider but, sadly, we don't

But assuming he qualifies soon, we are just so thin this year up front and, need another big desperately.. Hopefully his stamina can improve and he could contribute during BE games.

Me, I'd rather you post; anyone named Moose can take a little mud dragging. Seriously, though I am the same way; I hear a lot but post little for a different reason; I don't believe anyone really has "inside" information unless they hear it from the horses mouth. I thought Briscoe was coming here for sure because someone I played HS ball with 46 years ago teaches at Roselle Catholic and was convinced he was going to SJU. He was wrong.............................

What is the current status of this situation? It seems that most believe Adonis will be playing this year.

If you want him cleared just speculate publicly that all those Kentucky recruits had stand ins for their SAT's. Then throw in all the Duke players recently who graduated with distinction from high school like the 95% of non-athletes that get accepted and the NCAA would shit a brick. I speculate that there is academic fraud taking place at every top ten program, and most of it is occurring at the public Ivies like Carolina, Michigan and Cal Berkeley of this world.

I just don't see him contributing at all. I think Jones an contribute more. So having him burn a whole year just to have him play sporadically, at best, doesn't make sense to me.

The NCAA only seems to respond to legal pressure or Jay Bilas.

Something about this situation and the way we've had situations like this in the past makes me think it's bigger than what it's being portrayed as.

Also the timing of it as he was already taking college classes.

We've seen this movie before.

We're so busy focusing on some third-party whistle-blower but not even wondering why he was taking the SAT on his graduation day.

As raw as he is, I think ADR would be a better option than Jones in going up against the likes of Georgetown's Joshua Smith.

Can't argue with that, but Smith is probably the only big that he might be able to hang with.

Well there are a few posters on this site who directly speak to the coaches. So that is the horses mouth. There are some select few that have relationships with the kids as well. Briscoe was telling people he was coming. And he didn't. Things change sadly. Just like few years ago when staff had no confidence is getting Obekpa and were moving on only for him to re-enter the picture.

Sure i'm sure a few posters post stuff just to blow smoke. But there are quite a few who have access to the horses mouths.

Plus you never know if they are telling you the truth or if they change their minds after they talk to you. Omar Cook told me to my face he was coming back to St. John's for his soph year a week before he announced he was going to enter the draft. I didn't bring it up either.

The info is always appreciated. Obviously sources can rarely be disclosed.
