Really has to be the number 1 BE player who has really elevated his game this season. Maybe I am missing someone, but Zaby really has raised his level of play.
He has been a terror on the offensive glass. If he can match that on the defensive glass, lookout.Really has to be the number 1 BE player who has really elevated his game this season. Maybe I am missing someone, but Zaby really has raised his level of play.
Thank you for lifting this kid up. I said it in the KS game thread, those fans in the Bahamas did a fantastic job keeping this kid’s head right.I couldn't agree more. I was in the Bahamas chanting his name after the Baylor game. You could see the huge smile on his face when hearing the crowd as we helped lift his spirits. By all accounts a great kid and definitely an easy one for all of us to get behind and root for.
Another skill that’s gonna make him more and more dangerous playing the 5. If he can hit cutters and stay comfortable with the ball in the mid high post, it’s a whole new level he could unlock.
Don't love these passes from him against better teams. I know he has to show it for the next level, but hopefully just the first half of big games.
Announcers drove me nuts when they said it was a defensive mismatch for Zuby to be on a guard. i'm not really convinced by that at all.Zuby is doing many things right. I’m most impressed with his ability to guard the pick and roll and his over all mobility. Now please work on that foul shooting.
Would he get a couple of minutes a game at UConn?Zuby has been tremendous. After watching him last year, i thought he was nothing more than a backup role player. But he has improved tremendously and has become one of our best players.
It will be real interesting to see him and Reed go at it. The game could come down to who wins that matchup. 2 big boys right there.Would he get a couple of minutes a game at UConn?
Great post SalThis is why, in my opinion, you don't crap on your own guys, except maybe in the case of outrageous behavior.
Our Bahama contingent cheering Zuby AFTER a critical failure is one significant reason we are here today.
Zuby has a great support system. His Dad and family are not betting their futures on Zuby's success, just giving him all the love and support a 20 year old kid needs. They sent him to a big man's camp last summer, they trust Rick explicitly with his development, they SHOW UP at every game they can despite living far away. They also let him stay in Queens last summer to work on his game. Zuby is not here to make them rich, as some athletes encounter, they are there for him for him to go as far as he can.
Zuby's not alone. Rick recruits a lot of good kids from good supporting families.
But consider that probably half of basketball success is above the neck, us supporting these kids, especially when they are down, pays huge dividends.
I leave it to coaches to determine if a kid is lazy, out of control, a chucker, etc. There's a fine line between being objectively critical and trashing. But the best things fans can do, whether present or on line is energize their confidence.
I'm starting to believe Rick when he says this could be a very very good team.
He’s becoming one of my favorite players in a long time.Would he get a couple of minutes a game at UConn?
