Zach Brown Arrested Again

The real tragedy in all of this is that we are not that very good at the moment and the press this gives to the public makes us even look more pathetic to the average bball fan. Atleast this happened before this kid got here I don't feel sorry for this kid and think his rehab is behind bars. Hopefully the school will put out a press release cutting him and distanting itself from this loser.

Agreed - It makes the program look worse than tonight's poor performance. There was a risk here. It damages the reputation of the Program. Schools stayed away from Jordan for good reason. You would think St John's would have learned from that one. Given the pressure on our two recent coaching staffs to win it is understandable why they chase these risks, but where is the Administration? Heads in the sand.

Ron Artest started the worst brawl in NBA history.
Jayson Williams assassinated a limo driver than tried to cover it up
Our whole team ran a train on a hooker than decided not to pay her.
I think we will get over this pretty quickly

There really could a be a book written about this program and all the crazy stuff that has gone over the years. Don't know how well it would sell but it would be entertaining for sure.

Just this program?

Not at all. There could be a companion set on Baylor (basketball AND football, working title "Bliss & Briles"), point shaving at BC... the material is enormous. Yuge even.

You can add Notre Dame and Georgetown

Meant executed.
Sometimes my job gets in the way of my posting accuracy. I do apologize to my loyal fans for not always giving them my undivided attention.

To quote Boon from Animal House when Bluto said the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor: "let it go, he's rolling".

How about killed. The unpardonable crime was not the accidental killing but the cover up. There was no intention to take a life.

Yeah was using hyperbole but considering the crime, simple "killed" probable more appropriate.

WSJU, I get your point, but I think there was a time when we were considered one of the clean programs. I guess Mushnick has it just about right. Now that we are firmly entrenched in with all the others can we win like they do?

Williams was charged with reckless manslaughter, which ended in a hung jury. He later entered a plea of guilty to ag assault. While he didn't grab his shotgun with the plan of killing a man, that's of no comfort to the family of the man he shot and killed. Accidents happen every day. I hardly think what happened that night was an accident. He barely missed shooting Wayne Chrebet in a similar "accident" sometime before his limo driver was killed. He was an out of control former athlete engaging in both incredibly stupid and risky behavior.

Joe Pesci didn't intend to kill the kid (who played Christopher Moltisanti in the Sopranos) in Goodfellas. The kid just said the wrong thing to him

There was no proof of intent. The only person who knows for certain if there was or wasn't intent is Jayson.

Thus the charge of reckless manslaughter. I don't think there was a shred of evidence suggesting that there was an intent to kill. There was evidence, apparently, of completely reckless behavior. I vacationed with gun enthusiasts. Ex military and ex police. Plenty of guns around of all types. These guys had strict rules. 1. No booze in the homes we stayed in. 2. No playing poker for more than pennies. Didn't need any hotheads around. 3. Guns were handled in a safe and responsible manner by people who handled guns in the most stressful situations imaginable. I'm not a gun fan, but never felt at risk around these guys. They were very careful about who got invited into their circle. No drinkers, no people with bad tempers or anger issues. Jayson had problems with all 3.

If you read this you may change your tune. I am not convinced, and have never been convinced, that Jayson didn't pull that trigger intentionally. I stand by my assertion that Jayson is the only one who knows for sure whether there was intent.

Never saw that article, or heard about the testimony. Also don't recall if alcohol abuse factored in on that night. perhaps some others know the answer.

I'm not saying that he definitely had intent. I am only saying that there is no one other than Jayson who knows whether he fired that gun intentionally. So, when WASJU says that he "assassinated" Mr. Christofi, there are many who believe that is exactly what he did, and they may well be correct. Of course there are others who come close to giving Jayson a complete pass because, ya know, he's a likeable and charitable guy..

Haaaaaaa !!! He lost me at no drinkers but completely lost me at bad tempers or anger issues. Although those last 2 for me can be pretty much directly attributable to SJU basketball
