Yankees 2024 Season

Yankees just got screwed out of a run there. Looked pretty obvious to me that some of that ball hit by Torres, hit the line. Cabrera would have scored on that, IMO.
 
They applied the George Brett Rule—If it’s bad for the Yankees, it’s okay. See the Pine Tar Homer.

Actually winds up being meaningless, weather the Yankees score or not, because Volpe walked.
 
Judge has been really unlucky in this game.

Witt robbed him in the first, and it didn't look like he came close to going around on that 3-2 pitch.

That first base ump either:

A. Wanted to play himself into the Judge narrative

or:

B. Knew he wouldn't get an argument for Judge if he rang him up (which of course, he didn't), and couldn't say the same about the Royals, if he called it ball four.

I lean towards B.
