Yankees 2024 Season

Not a good day at all for the Yankees.

They still manage to treat baserunning like a joke. WTF was Soto doing?

Looks like Rizzo broke some bones in his right hand, and his availability for the playoffs may be in question. Tough break.

Weaver was less than inspiring today heading
into the playoffs, as was Gil. Certainly a concern.

All of a sudden, this pitching staff is giving u a ton of homers.

I never understood resting Judge after hitting homers in 5 straight games. He'll have almost the entire week off to rest. So today he looks like shit. Hopefully he gets back going tomorrow.

So he looked like shit after 1 off day, what's he gonna do in game 1 of the ALDS after 5 days off, 4 Ks?
It's on him to get himself fready, plain and simple, no excuses.
 
I feel like if Judge had been the one who got hit on the hand instead of Rizzo and wound up with two fractured fingers, people would be screaming why was he playing in a rather meaningless game.

He had a bad day, it happens.

I don’t know which fan base needs to be talked off the edge more after a loss, Yankee fans or Mets fans.

yes the yanks are flawed.
but as others have recently said, so are every other team in beisbal.
most years, one can point to 3 mlb teams and proclaim with confidence that 1 of the 3 will be in the world serious.
not this year. especially with the multiple playoff rounds.
bravo hal, brian, and boonie for giving us the best record in the al and the best run scoring team in the al.
you gave us $99, soon to be a dodger, and all that jazz. as well as leiter.
the 2nd season starts in a few days.
 
A pretty pitiful weekend. Every starter looked like crap.

Baserunning still bad.

I say this ream does not win the first series.
 
I think they can get through a best of five with the pitching as is. A seven game series would be much more problematic. It all depends on the matchup. One thing that is sure - they sure aren't getting any strategic advantage from their manager.
 
Tigers beat the Astors 3-1, in game one of the Wild Card series. So glad that we are not getting the Tigers in the ALDS. Skubal could win that almost on his own. He would be less of a dominant force in the best of 7 ALCS.

Royals just broke the ice in the top of the sixth at Baltimore, on an RBI hit by (of course) Bobby Witt Jr.
