Yankees 2024 Season

The way this game started it seems like it was going to be a continuation of the Cubs series without hitting with RISP. But the bats finally got going. Big night for Wells. Good to see them add on.

Still, the defense on this team sucks. Attention to detail not one of Boone's strong points, obviously.

Yankees pitchers give up more homers on curves and changeups than any team in MLB.

Decent job by the bullpen.

BTW, love Nick Swisher, but my brain needs a rest after listening to him.

the game was an agita special until the 7th, when it became a laugher.
wells plays a lot bigger than his .252 avg, 13 gettys, 49 rbis.
sadly the yanks defense is still torresible.
glad to see the martian in da bronx.
yanks took hit getting .249 hitter jazz. he is at .262.
the camera man deserves an emmy for filming weavers reaction to the 2 out/2 on strikeout.
rarely watch the yes post game show. past my bed time. but enjoyed swisher.
misleading graph about yankees as rookie catchers. yogi played a lot of rf his first year.

Another empty and offensive game from this up and down team. Shut down completely by good pitching.

This team has zero momentum, and keeps piling up strikeouts, 14 tonight. Soto has really cooled down. Will Judge ever hit another homer?

Stroman has to be under consideration to losing his spot in the rotation. Feels like he's 3 & 2 on every batter, driving up his pitch count, and leaves every other pitch over the plate to be hit. Leiter has turned out to be a waste of an acquisition.

This team is going nowhere.

Team can't hit for sh*t. Another offense-free night.

Gil will be lucky to get through 5 innings. High pitch count.

What the hell is going on with Soto?

Stanton just plain sucks.

Vs. a righty last night, or a lefty tinight, this team cannot hit.

More great baserunning. Verdugo leads off the 5th with a single, and is out stretching for a double.

Gritty win, but this team still has so many holes and does so many things poorly, I don't see them having success in the playoffs.

Even Volpe's dash to home was a mistake because he inexplicably slowed down rounding 3rd. Good idea, but he's a good enough baserunner to know better. If he doesn't hesitate, he scores there.

The decision to bring Cousins out for another inning was dumb. If idiot Boone was going to use Weaver in that inning anyway, bring him in to start the inning. Holmes is a whole other issue.

Stanton is absolutely atrocious, and aside from Soto's homer, this offense has struggled mightily recently, and that's what it will look like in the playoffs if Judge and Soto are not their normal selves.

Need to take 3 of 4 from the Red Sux this weekend before the west coast trip.
