WOW …

just read an article that said Arizona, Arizona state, Colorado and Utah leaving Pac 10 for Big 12. Would go after Texas/Oklahoma go to SEC to create 16 team league. Rumor saying Stanford, Oregon and Washington might end up in Big 10. Crazy Sh*t,

Pac 12 needs to stop panicking and try to get two strong basketball programs in there instead of joining a league of inferior institutions just for the sake of football that will rarely be invited to the football playoffs going forward anyway.

When is Amazon going to start their own CFB conference. Then everyone can get paid. Also can we change it to the BIG 25 instead of 10.
I thing its just BIG now like the Tom Hanks movie.....

I agree. The PAC 12 should start by going after Gonzaga.

They will not go after Gonzaga as football is the top dog and has been the reason for the overall change in the landscape going back to when the Big East added it to keep their football playing brethen from jumping ship and possible joining Penn State to form an eastern football conference.

Even with the loss of the two LA schools and the PAC 12 being behind other conferences in football. Any hope they have in sustaining and keeping the other programs is being able to lure programs that are solid in football.

I think the main reason for the initial race to 12 was because the NCAA didn't allow 10-team conferences to have a championship game. Change that rule and I really don't think the Pac-12 has to panic the way they are. I wonder if BYU regrets Big 12 decision right now now that there's a spot in the Pac-12.

Agree with the comment regarding of move to 12 teams to have a conference championship. NCAA may allow 20 team conferences to move to a 4 team playoff (semi's and finals) as conferences grow which would foster a merger between remaining Big 12 and Pac 12 for another superconference. (NCAA could then guarantee 2 automatic bids to various other sports, including b-ball, for "superconferences".

If Notre Dame says we need Stanford and Stanford says we need Oregon and Washington, that is the only way Oregon and Washington get into BIG10. Big10 doesn't need their demographics and their academics are below Big10 standards. SEC looking for a west coast footprint, and that Big12-Pac12 conglomerate will eventually work itself out. Next dominos will be ND and Stanford.

Keep thinking if Big Ten really grows ND, UNC and UVA make sense from their academic standing, but then Football is all that matters.

24 teams is ridiculous, but there will definitely be an arms race between the SEC and the Big 10. ACC will definitely be dead.

I foresee a football-only conference for the leftovers if they see a point in continuing with the sport, but the rest of their sports including basketball will be dispersed among other conferences.

Please welcome Wake Forest and . . . Boston College?!? for the 25-26 Big East season!

Wake without football is a perfect fit for the BE

I have no affiliation with the University of Washington but it fits well academically with most of the Big Ten. Oregon is slightly more of an outlier but a member of the AAU which the Big says they care about and an upgrade over Nebraska which again nothing personal fits more outside the other member institutions. So if Football is the main driver then they could probably find room for Oregon but it seems like Oregon and Washington are in Purgatory for now. They very easily could remain in the PAC 10 or bolt to the Big 12 with an escape clause at this point. I think the Big 12 and PAC 12 working out some kind of merger at least gives them a shot as the third option while isolating the ACC so eventually the SEC and Big Ten can raid them.
