@Villanova, Wed. Feb. 7, 7p, CBS SN/570AM

What a bizarre season. We were left for dead. Then 3 games against top opponents , Almost won all three This week has been a 180 degree turn around. Unbelievable. Happy for us fans, team and Mullin. The worm is turning. NIT in play and optics of program turning around. Could be a real boost to recruiting and player retention. Ponds was fantastic again. But , nice team effort. Simon,Owens and Clark also had great games.

Great game by every player. Everyone played within flow of game and result was fairly balanced scoring - with little to no ball stoppage and jab steps.

Shamorie - love this kid. Fears nothing. Lots of guys can get hot from outside and have a big night. Ponds scores in every way imaginable and takes it at anyone.

Lappas was spot on when he said that Ponds didn't need a screen tonight.

What a win and on the road against #1. Gotta give staff and kids credit keeping locker room together after that brutal stretch. I guess we really were the best 0-11 team in the country. Can’t wait till Saturday !

... Finally, I think this is the most successful losing season in St. John's history. ...

72, love that take on things. And you're 100% correct!

And if we beat Marquette, no doubt we'll be getting Top 20 votes next week. :)

Very unusual for us to both outrebound an opponent and shoot so many more foul shots than they did. To me it's an indication of how aggressively we played. Hoping we can take 4 of the last 6 and get an NIT bid. But even if we don't this team has given us two HUGE thrills.

I really think the whole Lovett thing knocked the staff and players on their ass. First waiting around for him to play and then the sudden statement he was done. We can all agree we would have won some of those games if Lovett had played, but I am taking it a step further. If it had come out that he was officially not playing at the beginning, I think we would have recovered sooner and won 3 or 4 games before Duke.

You can bet @mabde33 and the @StJohnsBBall staff will be burning up the phone lines and texts to recruits after knocking off Nos. 1 and 4 in 5 days.

We won this game with 6 kids. Can you imagine what we might be able to accomplish with a full team. ;) It has been like this for years and I am hoping (no praying) that we have a full bench next season. Right now on paper we do. Let's keep it that way.

Even a perfect red storm has to end at some point. We may have reached that point tonight. Hopefully Yakwe has healed because it would be nice to have a 7 man team down the stretch.

Was tied up tonight and couldn't catch the game. Popped open my laptop to see a "St. John's upsets..." headline and assumed it hadn't refreshed since the Duke game on Saturday. Did the double-take, followed by the spit take. Unreal! Well done, guys...
With as brutal a month as January was, you still needed to see a dominatrix?

Ha. She told me she was a police officer...

Thank you God! 18 point underdog, yeh sure. Just think what these kids and Mullin have accomplished. After losing 11
straight games one would expect a team with only 6 players to pretty much give up, yet they have continued to play harder then most of the opposition.
Interesting first half as far as foul calls, only Bronson's two with 8 seconds remaining.
Serzbiak' comment at half time - I challenge anyone to find a better player then Pond's in the country.
And Lappas' comment giving St.John's credit for their defense. When have we ever heard that? Guess Mullin and staff have shown marked improvement. Guess Mullin isn't such a bad coach afterall.
Hopefully, Ponds is coming back next year. Give us one more please.
Our recent play can only impress our recruits.
Once again, great effort and win tonight.

Where are those silly posters who said we should move down to a mid-major conference!

And Mullin can’t coach.
Matt can’t recruit, where is our fifth year transfer?
Mitch Richmond is completely useless.
st. Jean is just a kid and also should have had coaching experience.
Simon and Clark cannot play at this level.
Why do we take transfers, they are a complete waste?
Owens should réalisé he is not a 3 point shooter.
Can’t wsit until Bashir leaves, that day can’t come fast enough.
Trimble is too fat and out of shape to play at this level.
Brooks is probably rethinking his decision. Mickey Dixon was a 2 star recruit in high school why did we take him ?
Other than the daily dose of repetitive trash this site is an absolute pleasure to read.

St. John's was happy postgame, but not too happy. Basically, Red Storm didn't feel like this is that crazy. Have never lost confidence. #sjubb

"Hopefully, Ponds is coming back next year"

I expect him to do exactly what Bashir Ahmed did last year so don't be shocked.

When they showed the Nova girls wearing the "on another level" shirts I thought that the Johnnies had a chance.

It's been almost as many years between beating number 1's as between seeing triple crowns. Both wins feature Mullin and both were done in front of number 1's home crowd.

Game-callers regularly brought our attention to Nova's not having Phil Booth available tonight, but (unless I'm mistaken), never noted that LoVett, our second leading scorer, wasn't available to us.

Looking at Nova, they are, of course, an elite team, but their interior defense is suspect, something that could hurt them as the season goes ont. We were at our best when we took the ball to the basket.
