Villanova (MSG), Sat., Jan. 11 , 7p, CBSSN

Thanks for asking. We're all safe and sound. 4 miles from the closest evacuation zone in North Santa Monica. Only had one friend. I mean only had one friend in Palisades. She lost her house. Today the winds have died down a lot. Helping our firefighters but I can smell smoke everywhere, which I couldn't when the winds were ripping. Hoping they make a lot of progress at least on barriers before the winds pick up again later this afternoon. It's some scary shit. I can not imagine what it will look like when I go to see the devastation in Palisades and up the PCH once all the smoke clears, if you will pardon the pun.
Stay safe man!

Am I the only one who feels very calm about this game, in that I expect a relatively easy win? I just don't think Nova is that good, and we're at home.
I'll always be afraid of other teams hitting the three against us. I do think we've stepped up our defense against it much more in league play, but our lack of outside shooting will always make me hesitant against quality teams to think it'll be easy.

Nova has the best player in the league and 3 other very solid players. Not much after that, but if those 4 play well they can definitely make the game competitive. Hopefully we wear them down and don't send them to the foul line a lot.

We are due for those shots to start falling. There is literally no chance our team will shoot 10% or whatever it is over the past 3 games from the 3 point line, over the course of a full season (also has a team literally ever shot that bad of a percentage??). They've guys proven they can shoot at a high level, even earlier this year. It will turn around.

I've always said no one can set up the FT D like CRP.
It’s kind of a wonky stat, but it kind of makes sense if you think about it. You always wonder how making teams defend and pushing a pace affects shooting and this removes all the other variables.

Last season when we could pressure anyone, we were 324th in opposition FT %.

I think this is the game we see 4-5 threes drop. Think the team will be motivated to show up in a rocking MSG and will get some to go.

Xavier was won out but still shot 96% in this weeks game.

I agree and think we'll win. But I think this will be a close game for the most part. Same with Georgetown.

That Wednesday night game last year was fun. I actually like the Nova fans.

Nova fans handled success better than other nearby fans bases. Back in the day, they were annoying with the standing up before making a basket. Once they started dominating the league they were very nice about it. I am not even sure they still stand up to start the game and the half.

I agree w you. Never seen a team shoot 3 s so bad. Also think we will improve, but never be great.

Good luck, man! Awful situation out there. I hope you and your friends get through with as little trouble as possible.
