Post game, Kranmars, mjmaher and I were discussing that emphatic declaration of a chant that is non-existent now. Too many bad seasons, younger fans just don’t know. We need to lead the way and teach them. Hopefully that will start Tuesday.

A young fan near me at both Carnesecca and MSG has often got the “Let’s go Johnnie’s” chants going. I enjoy them much more than the “what time is my train?” Chants the older crowd favors.

The refs were inconsistent and we seemed to get the worse of it.

There were 29 fouls on them and 16 on us. They took 17 free throws and we took 39. The nation's leading scorer took 2 and our best player took 20. You must be a coach.

I would also add they (Villanova) had many more players in foul trouble so they were calling fouls.

At one point in the 1st half, I think they had 6 fouls to our 1 or 2. I turned to Eric and said "I'll bet you there are still some on the message board complaining about the refs being out to get us"

Maybe that’s because they played the game like a football game. Many of ours shots were at garbage time when they fouled to stop the clock and extend the game. Some fouls called on us were pretty ticky tack.

Dixon regularly bulled his way into the lane, pushing off and just crashing in. He could have been called for many more fouls.

But, that’s my perception. You can have yours.

When we’re winning with 30 seconds left, I usually try to start “We Are (Clap,Clap), St. John’s (Clap,Clap)” in the student section because that’s what the cheer team usually does.
