I think with one more year under Coach Pitino that Prey will be very good. His footwork on defense is superb. Really great to see a young kid move and slide like he does already. I am looking forward to his development big time ! :)

In years past when he played more in the post, he set up a tent in the key and never was called for 3 seconds…now playing primarily on perimeter he gets away with that stiff arm every time. It’s just so blatant.

So great to see you guys yesterday. Always a great time with the best group of guys. I haven’t read through all today but has anyone touched on how classy Villanova fans are ? Really nice fanbase and the women of Nova ain’t bad to look at either :)
 
The game last night had the feel of a game from the 70s when Looie roamed the sidelines and while not the most talented those Johnny teams gutted out wins with hard play and defense. The big Garden crowd for a traditional rivalry game when we always felt we were going to win no matter what top ten team came to town gave me goosebumps. .

Were it not for the several drunk Nova fans behind us who started taunting us with “the Johnnies are going down” chants with a meager 5 point lead early in the second half the night would have been more then perfect.

Of course those obnoxious jackasses paid the price at games end as I calmly turned around with a well known familiar saying …… ITS OVA FOR NOVA……their cringe expressions made it all worth while. Hehehehehe.😂👍

Because of circumstances was not in my usual seats with mostly season ticket holders.

My seats were surrounded by 30 something sju grads - which was absolutely great to see. The behavior for the most partnwas appalling. They were nearly all shit faced, and I've learned enough over timebnot to try to correct a loud drunk at sport venues. Three guys decided to stand up when there was no reason to stand, sometimes just to chat, one girl spent the whole game standing and chatting with a girl in the row behind her even when the gsme heated up, one guy kept shouting profanity laced obscenities mostly graphically sexual. Late in the game one drunk sju grad spotted my daughter's Villanova cap (she wasnt even cheering outwardly for Nova) and just leaned over and said "You're Nova. FUCK YOU". I can handle most drunks, so after telling him that wasn't nice, pulled him close and said, "She's been rooting for St Johns since you were in kindergarden". He then apologized and said, "I just meant Villanova, not you" She said "Really? You said fuck you" From that point on was my buddy, drunk hugging me all game. Turns out he's an attorney.

I'm amazed at the total lack of civility in general. With an older fan base there were plenty of 60-80 year olds standing on the train. One Villanova alum douchebag rushed onto the train when the doors opened and saved an entire 2 rows of 5 seats for his wife and kids ages approx 12-15. Douchebag. I hesitated about 4 times to say anything. Snazzy dresser tho. Dick

I'm sorry that you had that experience at what should have been a perfect evening for you and family.

Unfortunately, as you know, class, dignity, decorum and civility are in sharp decline in society.

I guess others had a different experience than me with regards to Nova fans. At TIr na nog I was having some really nice spirited conversations with some Villanova fans and they were knowledgeable and very friendly. I guess every fanbase has some warts . 🤷🏻‍♂️

My friends and I sat next to two couples from Villanova and had a great time. We shared stories and I let them know I only root against Nova when they play St John's since two of my former players, Curtis Sunpter and Jason Fraser, were a part of Jay Wright's first recruiting class kickstarting Nova's resurgence. Allen Ray also played in a couple of tournaments with us.

The only time I gave them the sideeye is when one of the gentlemen wanted me to give him a high five after Poplar's dunk. LMAO

Post game, Kranmars, mjmaher and I were discussing that emphatic declaration of a chant that is non-existent now. Too many bad seasons, younger fans just don’t know. We need to lead the way and teach them. Hopefully that will start Tuesday.

The red towels most have only been in the 100s.
They weren't there in the 200s.

Last night's packed house was great, very loud.

Can't wait for Tuesday night.
