Transfers

FWIW I see the staff as needing bodies, they can be selective once they're down to 2 or 3 available spots.

Here's who's appears to be guaranteed to be on the roster with a ride next year:

Amar Ali B G
Christian, ADR and Felix (are they really though?)
TO (not eligible to play)
Sima

Am I missing anybody?

I've been working off the premise that Christian and Adonis are gone. I think Balamou is here if he wants to be. Too many talented kids coming through OSNA to piss them off. If he wants to leave, bend over backwards to help him find a new school so he leaves on a positive note.

Felix wants to stay. He is excited about getting his degree from SJU next year.

Were either Stewart or Jay Henderson on scholarship?

I suspect they were promised scholarships for next season. I think Paultz said he thinks Stewart is gone.

Can't see how either would fit in to Chris's future plans. Guessing same holds true for ADR and probably Jones. With Slice and Matt on board, and based on what we've seen in a short period of time, can't imagine the staff won't quickly find kids who will be huge upgrades over those 4.

Think ADR is in a different category than the other 3. He could have some value if he gets in shape.

I may be alone but I'm pretty high on ADR provided he works hard to get into shape. He is a skilled big body we can never have enough of those. He can be our Matt stainbrook.

He had all last summer to get in shape and he didn't. He had all season to get in shape and he didn't. In fact in the number of times I saw him at CTK this winter, he looked to be in worse shape than the year before. At the St. Mary's game he was huffing and puffing......on the lay up line! Hoping ADR has an epiphany, but don't see it happening. Besides we still have no idea what his academic standing is. Not expecting him to be in our future plans, maybe I'll be pleasantly surprised.

This is very true, but when Mullin mentioned the new look johnnies as being a team in great shape, I immediately though of his potential impact on ADR. I guess all we can do is hope that we are both pleasantly surprised next year.

Side note- I wonder if he can teach Felix B how to shoot? Would def then be able to give us some quality minutes. Would be a lot of work but I saw it happen with Danny Green coming. Out of St Mary's

ADR has skills but clearly needs to get in better shape to be able to contribute
Another question is his academic status
Will he even be eligible to play next season?

Felix has a high motor, tremendous athleticism and a willingness to play defense
But he has been a detriment offensively when he gets a chance to play
If he could develop range up to 15 feet, he could definitely help us next year
Coach Mullin is the shooting guru - hope they work together to make it happen

Felix is this generation's Carl Beckett - an undersized SF who can't shoot.

That said, Carl was a really good rotation player who played to his strengths.

I hope so. Always loved Williams-Goss as a player since he was HS junior. Hope this is true.

Yes would be nice . But let us not forget You can lead a horse to water
you get the idea.

@GoodmanESPN: Kentucky will host Charlotte transfer Mike Thorne on 25th and 26th, he told ESPN. Eligible this season. Also looking at Pitt, Illinois, KU.

Just my musings, but I think the staff will keep ADR in the fold. They have been making inroads with the local HS schools, so why mess with that. You can't teach size, and the kid has skills.

It isn't extremely hard for a college athlete to get into shape. He is going to be closely monitored, and I think all the good vibes surrounding the program will rub off on ADR.

With the bigs already on board, demanding he get into shape to give a hard 10-12 minutes per game isn't a tall order.

What good do any of his skills do us if..
1) he isn't eligible
2) He can't get up and down the court

And neither of those issues are resolved. Why give yourself more headaches? Nothing against Adonis, but give me a player instead without eligibility issues or a conditioning problem.

@GoodmanESPN: Transfer List is at 450-plus and we're only in mid-April. The record was 700 last year --http://t.co/O9T0HYNi8C

Listed w Cunningham too fwiw.

Sorry paultz, do you mean we are listed with cunningham? I was wondering what was going on with him.

From link above

15. Josh Cunningham, Bradley -- He was a Top 100 recruit, and he can rebound and defend; he plays hard. The 6-7 Illinois native averaged 7.9 points and 7.5 boards as a freshman for the Braves this past season.

Considering: Arizona, DePaul, Michigan State, Notre Dame, St. John’s, Minnesota, Purdue, South Carolina, UIC, Dayton, Colorado State

I will take Cunningham....we need some size in the 6'5 to 6'7 range. We have Williams at either SF or PF but we don't have anyone at the other position.

Team needs guards, at least 2 of them.

For sure, like this crafty PG;

22. Anthony Collins, South Florida (eligible immediately) -- The veteran point guard was granted a medical hardship waiver and can play his final season in 2015-16. Collins played only eight games in 2013-14 due to a knee injury, and this past season he averaged 7.1 points and 5.2 assists.

Considering: California, Tennessee, Baylor, Georgetown, St. John's, Purdue
