Transfers

@GoodmanESPN: No one working the transfer wire quite like St. John's. Source said that the Red Storm have reached out to Alabama transfer Ricky Tarrant.
Nice player but not really a pg. Likes to score, bit undersized for a two. Reminds me of slightly less talented Trevor Lacey of NC ST. who also was a Bama transfer, though Lacey is very clutch at end of game situations.

Can't find any Bama footage on him but here are some from Tulane. Highlight videos are deceiving because his stats show that he is a poor/inconsistent shooter.

Goodman and Borzello list him as a Top 5 impact transfer. So take that FWIW.

Pitt seems floundering" Wonder when Mustapha Heron will reopen recruitment;

@AronMinkoff: Everyone from Dixon's 2011 recruiting class has transferred now. Malcolm Gilbert, Khem Birch, John Johnson and Durand Johnson.

A killer AAU showing will most certainly do it.

Wow roles reversed. Pittsburgh floundering and St Johns on a dynamic upswing. I like it better that way. Villanova beware.
;)

Jermaine Ruttley, who averaged 17.4 points at Fla. A&M last season, become hot name on transfer market. 6-foot-3 guard eligible immediately.

@OntheRadarHoops: Freshman guard Devin Mitchell will transfer from Alabama

Team needs guards, at least 2 of them.

For sure, like this crafty PG;

22. Anthony Collins, South Florida (eligible immediately) -- The veteran point guard was granted a medical hardship waiver and can play his final season in 2015-16. Collins played only eight games in 2013-14 due to a knee injury, and this past season he averaged 7.1 points and 5.2 assists.

Considering: California, Tennessee, Baylor, Georgetown, St. John's, Purdue
I like the idea of Collins if Sheed doesn't return. Immediate eligibility and exp. I get the feeling Sheed will not return.

If Sheed leaves, Collins is a great one year option until Mo reinforces the troops

Can a coach contact a kid that has committed?

@PantherLair: Durand Johnson has left the #Pitt basketball team, per the school.

Anyone know why he didnt play this past year? Doesnt have any stats. I liked him when they were in the BE

@NYPost_Brazille: St. John's looking at Alabama transfer guard Ricky Tarrant, source confirms. #sjubb

@GiveNGobball: Eric Paschall announces that he is down to Fordham, Providence, Kansas, Villanova, and Florida.

Yes, they can, as long as it's only a verbal. As, a cardinal rule most coaches typically stay away from the verbal committed recruit. Football recruiting is totally different than basketball. Many times, a verbal doesn't mean anything, per football recruiting.

So hot that he was only on the market for about an hour. . .
