Transfers

He had all last summer to get in shape and he didn't. He had all season to get in shape and he didn't. In fact in the number of times I saw him at CTK this winter, he looked to be in worse shape than the year before. At the St. Mary's game he was huffing and puffing......on the lay up line! Hoping ADR has an epiphany, but don't see it happening. Besides we still have no idea what his academic standing is. Not expecting him to be in our future plans, maybe I'll be pleasantly surprised.

Just my musings, but I think the staff will keep ADR in the fold. They have been making inroads with the local HS schools, so why mess with that. You can't teach size, and the kid has skills.

It isn't extremely hard for a college athlete to get into shape. He is going to be closely monitored, and I think all the good vibes surrounding the program will rub off on ADR.

With the bigs already on board, demanding he get into shape to give a hard 10-12 minutes per game isn't a tall order.

What good do any of his skills do us if..
1) he isn't eligible
2) He can't get up and down the court

And neither of those issues are resolved. Why give yourself more headaches? Nothing against Adonis, but give me a player instead without eligibility issues or a conditioning problem.

My opinion os that since the staff is getting bigs into the program, they can work on getting him into shape. He can be a project. And if Diallo signs here, then the staff can work on ADR without any rush for next season.

He can be a part of a steady rotation with Amar, Sima, Owens, and whoever else they pluck in 2016. I think the staff gives ADR a shot.

Of course the academics change things, but no one has any idea at this point where he stands.

@CESPN1: According to Jeff Goodman, Nigel Williams-Goss is considering St. John's. #sjubb

@GoodmanESPN: Transfer List is at 450-plus and we're only in mid-April. The record was 700 last year --http://t.co/O9T0HYNi8C

Listed w Cunningham too fwiw.

Sorry paultz, do you mean we are listed with cunningham? I was wondering what was going on with him.

From link above

15. Josh Cunningham, Bradley -- He was a Top 100 recruit, and he can rebound and defend; he plays hard. The 6-7 Illinois native averaged 7.9 points and 7.5 boards as a freshman for the Braves this past season.

Considering: Arizona, DePaul, Michigan State, Notre Dame, St. John’s, Minnesota, Purdue, South Carolina, UIC, Dayton, Colorado State

Thanks, should have looked my self.

Him or Paschall would be the two best forward transfers out there IMO. Both would be major impact type

IMO whatever Chris does with ADR will be handled extremely diplomatically and with ADR's interest taken in to account. I think most every closely connected to ADR realizes that he's got a very long way to go before he can contribute at this level, if he can ever contribute at this level. I don't think that a "mutual parting of ways" would be the worst thing for all parties, or that it would cause any issues for Chris down the road. Again, I hope ADR makes a complete commitment to getting himself in shape, but considering how far he has to go and how little it seems he's done so far, I have little confidence that he will.

Great post. Your reasoning makes a ton of sense. I am not using much reasoning (as per usual), just a hunch. If ADR puts the time in, I think Mullin will reward him by making him a player. Moreover, if Diallo is added, the depth of big men allows ADR even more time.

Felix is this generation's Carl Beckett - an undersized SF who can't shoot.

That said, Carl was a really good rotation player who played to his strengths.

Agree with your assessment but I always felt he should have gotten more minutes off the bench than he did.

@JonRothstein: Nigel Williams-Goss told @CBSSports he will visit UNLV this wknd, Providence (4/25), Texas (5/1), + Georgetown (5/8). Mich St also in mix.

Team needs guards, at least 2 of them.

For sure, like this crafty PG;

22. Anthony Collins, South Florida (eligible immediately) -- The veteran point guard was granted a medical hardship waiver and can play his final season in 2015-16. Collins played only eight games in 2013-14 due to a knee injury, and this past season he averaged 7.1 points and 5.2 assists.

Considering: California, Tennessee, Baylor, Georgetown, St. John's, Purdue

Perfect.
Immediate eligibility is the key.
Have visions of Felix running the point.

Might be tough to get a kid to go from Dartmouth to St. John's, but Alex Mitola is eligible immediately and from New Jersey.

@EvanDaniels: Kenny Williams Sr. tells Scout that Kenny Williams has indeed received his release from VCU. One of the best shooters in 2015 class.

@CESPN1: According to Jeff Goodman, Nigel Williams-Goss is considering St. John's. #sjubb

I hope so. Always loved Williams-Goss as a player since he was HS junior. Hope this is true.

He is well known in Las Vegas. Went to Findley Prep, and committed to UNLV initially. Then, Lon Kruger left for Oklahoma, and Williams-Goss re-opened his recruitment. Word on radio yesterday was he was considered to be a selfish player, and his decision to transfer was not discouraged by staff.

@DCTheState: Tevin Mack's mother confirms that VCU has given him his release. She says that he's seeing what his options are.

I hope we go after Mack. Actually, I hope we go after him and Williams. Both of 'em can shoot the ball.

Thanks Kranmars. I hope your hunch is right and my reasoning is wrong, as it's quite often known to be.

@EvanDaniels: So far schools In the mix for Kenny Williams (http://t.co/yHaFapI5JQ)? Georgetown, North Carolina, Michigan & Virginia.

@PantherLair: Durand Johnson has left the #Pitt basketball team, per the school.

A selfish player that averaged 6 assists? Doesn't sound bad, plus averaged 15 pts.

I like the idea of Collins if Sheed doesn't return. Immediate eligibility and exp. I get the feeling Sheed will not return.

@GoodmanESPN: No one working the transfer wire quite like St. John's. Source said that the Red Storm have reached out to Alabama transfer Ricky Tarrant.
