Transfers

Player I would most like to keep is Sampson. Everything seems positive about him. Only player SL left that might have changed his mind because of him leaving, Although not sure he might not have reopened his recruitment anyway given the team that would have been around him.

nope, he was Lavin all the way, despite naysayers. Hope Chris and company can get him the way Lavin re recruited Jakarr. Very tough when it opens up again.

@JonRothstein: USF transfer Anthony Collins will visit Baylor this weekend (4-17-19), source told @CBSSports. Tennessee also in mix. Immediately eligible.

@JonRothstein: Miami transfer Manu Lecomte told @CBSSports he will visit Baylor this weekend (4/17-19). Also considering St. John's and Dayton.

I didn't know we were after this kid. Good shooter, but small.

Good: Fantastic 3pt and FT shooter.

Bad: Very low assist numbers for a PG and an almost 1:1 ast/to ratio.

But he also did this:

Being in South Florida, I have seen Manu play many times, on TV and in person
He's pretty good - would give us a solid 20-25 minutes per game
Started last year - played behind Angel Rodriguez this year
Played a lot more later in the season when Angel hurt his wrist
He's small and has difficulty matching up against bigger PG's
Handles the ball well and has good shooting range
I would definitely take him if given the opportunity - he could help us

@GoodmanESPN: VCU freshman forward Justin Tillman's father told ESPN his son will transfer out of the program.

I know Jordan will most likely be gone next year no matter what but we will still have Doughty, Barnes Thompkins and maybe Mussini in the mix.... is it either Lecomte or Mussini at this point cause I really cant see us having 4 point guards on the roster?

Doughty is definitely not a pg, and SBT is more of a two and a combo at best.

Kid has a little Jameer Nelson in his game

Is it fair to ask if the will they both still come/be wanted here with the coaching change?

Doughty is up to the staff since there's an LOI. SBT is up to him since there's not. Spring signing period started today. It will be interesting to see if SBT signs with STJ since I can't recall hearing boo about him since the coaching change.

@GoodmanESPN: Transfer Anthony Collins told ESPN he will visit Baylor this weekend. Also hearing from Tennessee, Georgetown, St. John's, Purdue.

If they are after Collins for 1 year that means confidence in Jordan returning is not high.

Not necessarily. It could also be for depth. There really isn't a point guard on the current roster, other than Jordan.

Collins is not using his grad transfer to play backup minutes on a team with limited post season aspirations so while the staff may be thinking like you (doubt it) Collins wouldn't be considering such an offer. Just MHO.
