Because he can work his ass off and it still wont matter. Storr has no control over the situation. This happens in all walks of life, not just basketball.
 
New sheriff in town who wants to bring in his own people/players. Not a new or surprising concept.

I like the three players who most recently entered the portal, but if we're expecting a transformation, there's going to be some change and turnover.

So Rick says you're probably a 15min type player, then AJ goes out there and kill it for those 15 minutes for say 5-6 straight game, no matter what, he'll still only get 15 minutes? That's BS, his minutes will go up to 20, then 25 etc.....

Pitino is a Hall of Fame coach who wants to win now and knows what it take to win at the level that our program is striving for. He’s going to play the best players. He’s going to play the players who buy in and produce. If Storr was one of those players he would get his minutes.

Pitino is never going to need AJ Storr to win. He is going to bring in 6-8 who are just as good or better the Storr. So this scenario where he needs storr to play to win will never happen.
 
Late on the Storr news but he wasn’t happy that his playing time was minimal when the team was struggling early in BE play. There was some talk of him leaving even if our former coach was retained. Once these other programs smell blood, they pounce. They’ve been in his ear for months.
