Transfer Portal

if I had to guess I would say he wants them to see what they should expect daily at practice under him and make sure it's something they want to commit to or not. Also for him to see if they are up for it as well. So yeah, he sort of is a tryout. I think it's a benefit for both sides to see.
I kind of said that below, but you beat me to it. Lol.

FWIW, and probably not much, 247 Sports ranks Timberlake # 11 and Wojcik # 49 of immediately available Top Transfers.

-Pitino and his staff will be working out returning players starting on Tuesday.

Is he holding tryouts to see if the current players are worthy of returning?
Tobin Anderson did this right after getting hired at FDU, and quickly realized they were so bad that he'd need to bring his D2 players in.

That's actually hilarious. But just for the record. Some posters on this board were claiming Pitino had watched a ton of video before getting the job and already knew exactly who he wanted back. Also that it was guaranteed he would bring in 6-8 new players, because he said it during the press conference. Just saying 😉

From Zach, news of Clayton, it's 'good':

Walter Clayton Jr. tells me he will take an official visit to St. John's after the Final Four dead period around Apr. 6.

Some posters insisted that almost the entire team would return. Yet others swore that there would be a near complete roster turnover. Then there were the rest of us who said that it would probably fall somewhere in between. We'll soon find out who was right.
