I think I mentioned him last fall, but as a total shot in the dark.

Seems in the mix, but rumors abound

Xavier Booker is a kid to keep an eye on
Funny you bring up Butler since their top transfer was a bench player at Michigan State.Go for substance and fit v “glitz”
Matta did that and take a look at production from Telford and few others.
2.75 -3M is range for coming season being rumored, we’ll see.
$3 million averaged over 10 players = $300k per player, but the starters presumably get a higher proportion. That's a nice payday.2.75 -3M is range for coming season being rumored, we’ll see.

it's been said the staff thought they had Onyenso from Kentucky locked up for the Zuby role and that he was forced to enter the portal by his handlers who wanted him here but he eventually made the final call to stay at UK. He's going to be absolute monster. Missed the first month of the season due to injury but has games of 8 blocks and 10 blocks already this year both against solid SEC teams. Trilly said he's going to the highest bidder.
As has been mentioned already, Trilly did mention us as a potential suitor for Jordan Pope but only that we're likely to get involved and that he'd have a ton of options.
I also feel like because he took over so late in the game, he didn't have a chance to establish relationships and fully evaluate some of the kids before hand, so he sort of grabbed who he could get hoping it would translate at this level. This year hoping he is way ahead of the game and not only knows exactly what he's looking for, but has the time to identify it.I think one thing Rick and staff learned this year, is that offensive production is something where you never know if its gonna translate. Don't get hung up on PPG, instead make sure you are getting players who are all true two way guys. That's the way to win in CBB imo. Offense comes and goes in college, but if we can always put 5 out there who can guard multiple guards/wings, we are going to be able to compete and win. This doesn't mean totally ignore offense but strike a better balance.
This is why Zuby is such a key piece. We already have a defensive center who can switch onto wings and hold his own. Get players in the other 4 positions that are quick/athletic and tough. One thing this year has taught me, is we need the personnel to match Rick's playstyle. Marillac has hit on this a couple times recently, but we need to be a high flying/up and down team next year.
I don't know much, but I can assure you Dug McDaniel isn't intimidated by the bright lights of MSG.Not sure if anybody posted it already, but here is the potential movers list as per Trilly. Good outside shooter but not a physical player or defensive ace. The team revolves around Tyler Thomas, an incredible volume scorer not afraid to take big shots.Add Hofstra's Darlinstone Dubar to the likely transfer list. Scored 23 points on us and has his covid year left. From Charlotte and the Carolina schools are expected to get involved
Not enough to buy a family of 4 hotdogs at Portillo's thoughI also expect that DePaul number to rise if they make the right hire
Not sure what his level is. Being an inefficient high volume guard on a bad mid major team might be his calling. A bit of a Mikey Dixon typeI've been wondering for a while whether Khalil Brantley would be looking to make a move.
Matt A is way ahead of the game. All is well even though I am thoroughly disappointed and frustrated by this season.I also feel like because he took over so late in the game, he didn't have a chance to establish relationships and fully evaluate some of the kids before hand, so he sort of grabbed who he could get hoping it would translate at this level. Maybe he is sticking with it so that the kids that Stay... are familiar with it for next year...... yet, he keeps forcing it expecting a different outcome. it absolutely doesn't make sense. i would've thought someone of his experience would have more tools in his bag.
as far as relevancy for this thread, he does say that next year we'll have athletes that will be a much better fit. i'm hopeful next year will be better.
