Transfer Portal Mania

As has been speculated by some resident dot connectors, there's a very simple way (aside from starting) that keeps Wilcher and family happy. Just need to see how many spaces are open before locking it in if that's the path staff goes down.

Rick proactively telling Simeon he will start next year all part of Portal, in this case the “defensive” part of it.

Everything Rick says even casually is calculated
All those promoting Wilcher and Dunlap transferring are guessing .

Wilcher wasn’t going to play a lot , if ever , at UNC if he stayed with the Heels. So , it’s in his best interest to stay here as he has learned from RP.
Dunlap will stay too. He opted out of ND to play for Rick and why would he transfer ?

Many of our fans don’t grasp the Portal and Covid extensions have created a whole new dynamic in College BB .

It’s not 18, 19 year olds playing against 20 year olds anymore . They are playing against 24-25 year old men who have played 4 years of College BB already .

Hard for 18 year olds to compete against that . Sure , they are a few Frosh playing regularly , Castle for one but, that’s more the exception than the rule .
And , Pitino will use the Portal again to bring in , hopefully some stud transfers . Plus Glover and the Greek kid .

CJ shooting 45% from 3 this year at high volume but only playing less than 20 mins per game because he's a bit of a turnstile on defense. Interesting decision to be made for sure especially given the defensive struggles of the new guys this season.

Impressive stats. We badly need guys who can takeover a game & create own shot. Saw post above his defense may be poor…is he quick?
Can't say I've watched much Oregon State basketball this year because I'm not one of the 12 people that gets the Pac 12 Network but the two metrics sites that grade individual defense have him graded very poorly and his on/off defense splits are pretty bad.

As for his offense, only 6.1% of his 33 makes at the rim have been assisted, 13.8% of his 58 mid range makes and 51% of his 51 3 point makes have been assisted so he's certainly no stranger to creating his own shot.
