Transfer Portal 2022

While I have always understood that the constant negative posters are tiring and usually not entertaining, I am starting to question the sanity of the All is well posters after all these years.

Agree that all is definitely not well.  My expectations for the transfer season is that we will pick up a number of  kids with modest numbers, none of whom will jump out as home runs.

If Anderson and staff couldn’t hit home runs when we had some momentum, I don’t see how they do so when the program is coming off a very disappointing year.  i

I think the best chance we have is to hope that Anderson  gets some kids who fit the system and that our kids drastically outperform expectations as I expect them to be very low next year.

To think that we will bring in one, let alone two high impact transfers, strikes me as unrealistic.

Didn’t know where to post  this, but is anybody irked by Anderson’s flirtation with Tulsa?  Because after listening to Zach yesterday, I’m seething.

Not sure how much, if anything Zach knows, but he speculated that there was real interest on CMA’s part and that the primary reason he didn’t take the job may relate to his buyout.

If that’s true, we’re talking about a coach who, in addition to dramatically underachieving this year, has real questions about his commitment to the program.

Given CMA’s connections to Tulsa, and the disappointing season at SJU, I can’t say I necessarily blame him for exploring the Tulsa opportunity. But as a fan, let alone what a university administrator should think, I have real problems with the university paying a guy more than $2 million dollars who, in addition to underachieving, is flirting with other programs.

What kind of message does that send about our program? What does that portend if CMA actually achieves concrete success here?  We should only be so lucky I guess.

Anderson to ST John’s always felt like an odd arranged marriage
He is better off down South and We Are St John’s..... so Um not sure what works here

I sometimes question the sanity of all St. John's basketball followers including myself.

Used to be calming.
Win 20 every year, maybe wins game in tournament or Chris Mullin misses an free throw and you don’t. But every Selection Sunday only suspense was seeding.

Every good coach is always flirting with another job that's the way it goes. You want to have a coach that other schools want.  Just like coaches are always recruiting their best players to come back in the off-season, administrations are also doing the same thing to keep their good coach around, that's why after a good season they start throwing those extensions out there.

There's no such thing as loyalty in this industry... administrations, coaches, and players are always going to do what's in their own best interest, because all of their jobs and futures are at stake.  Only people that are loyal are the diehard fans.

Borzello- “Kansas State guard Nijel Pack is in the transfer portal, source told ESPN. Huge addition to the transfer list. Averaged 17.4 points, 3.8 rebounds, shot 43.6% from 3-point range. Lot of schools had their eyes on him. First-team All-Big 12 selection.”

Might be the best one yet. Cue all the leader of the Pack lines.
