Transfer Portal 2022

Some chatter that SJU remains interested in Drexel transfer guard Camren Wynter, a Long Island kid as noted previously. This stuff is fluid so we’ll see.

All high majors seem to be interested in him.

Arkansas’ last recruit of the Mike Anderson era has found a new home.Point guard Justice Hill, who spent one semester with the Razorbacks before transferring to Salt Lake C.C., announced Monday that he’d continue his collegiate career at Murray State. He has three years of eligibility remaining.

The only high school signee in Arkansas’ 2019 class, Hill actually graduated from Little Rock Christian a semester early so he could practice with his future teammates over the second half of the 2018-19 season.Despite being committed since his freshman year, Hill announced he was entering the transfer portal a couple of months after Eric Musselman was introduced as the new head coach. He landed at Salt Lake C.C. in Utah, where he averaged 13.9 points, 4.3 assists, 3.2 rebounds and 1.2 steals while helping the Bruins to a 29-4 record and No. 4 overall seed in the NJCAA national tournament - which was canceled because of the coronavirus pandemic.

Following old coach to a bigger stage?

I think I remember Making Plays wondering whether he'd be interested in coming here when CMA was hired.

He looked good in parts of games I saw.

Appreciate all he did for us, but suspect Mathis is the easiest player to upgrade over via portal. Offensively anyway.

I tend to agree. And It might be easier to add a non shooter if we knew what his plans were. If he decides to stay, and he definitely proved he does have value, bringing another non shooter to this backcourt would be a tough fit.

maybe.  But as this year's tournament has shown, elite defense and a team that doesn't rely on one or two main scorers, wins games.  Mathis' defense is hard to find.

I love Justice, he's a great kid comes from a really good family.  I've followed his career and will root for him wherever he goes.

I'm not sure if he's a fit here because he and Posh have very similar games and both undersized guards. but he's an impact guy both on and off the court wherever he lands.
Wasn't he committed to CMA at Arkansas? Has two years left.

I don't think Curbelo is a fit here with Posh either since he is going to want to start wherever he goes.

My guess is Curbelo goes to a school who needs a PG to be a serious contender.

Yes he was, super early commit, he committed to CMA in like the 9th grade.  I know Fitz Hill (Justice dad) and CMA are really good friends.  Fitz had a radio show in Arkansas and he's spoke about their relationship before and how much he respects CMA.

With that said, I am not sure if Justice follows CMA all the way up to NYC to be Posh's back-up.  And I think CMA would be straight up with Fitz and let him know Justice would have his work cut out for him to get minutes, he just averaged 30 MPG for a really good Murray State team.

The good and bad thing about Posh is he's really good and good piece to build around, bad thing about him is he's so good and fits the system so well, he literally scares away any other good PG's because they realize it's very few minutes available behind him and it's going to be almost impossible to beat him out for minutes at PG.  And even if they play alongside him he's a ball dominate guard that gets a lot of assist so they'd essentially have to change positions and play more off ball to get significant minutes.

Why no speculation that he would follow his latest coach to LSU ?
