SJU Transfer Targets/Possibilities

Could he be trying to say I can make it in the NBA because I could make it in NY. It's not like he said I am coming home. I hope he is but I need more.

I saw that tweet and my eyes popped. And using those lyrics seems  a clear 'wink / wink' hint he's coming 'home',  but you're right, it could mean since he's from NYC & he made it big in the ACC, he can make it in the NBA...or challenges be damned, navigate the various European leagues and make it big there.
Yes, it is tantalizing to dream the IF of it, but how often have we been burned at the Dream & Hope Altar'? Didn't want to raise hopes.

I'm usually an optimist but agree with Andrew here.

Regrettably, can’t read too much into his tweet. Could just mean that if he could make it in a competitive ACC, he could make it anywhere.

He may not come here, but the quote is a clear allusion to New York, New York.

If he wasn’t from NYC I’d say maybe it means something. But I’m pretty sure we’re grasping at straws here.

I wouldn’t lose any sleep over it. If he comes he comes.
The time to lose sleep beforehand would be if we didn't already have a good PG, but luckily that isn't the case.

There's plenty of time to lose sleep after he comes, however, as in lying awake at night thinking about how we'll be finally in the Elite Eight again. /media/kunena/emoticons/cool.png

Rutgers transfer Jacob Young just announced he is headed to Oregon: SJU had initial interest

Zach B on Jacob Young;

”Thought he would’ve been a good fit at St John’s. And there was mutual interest. Search for a combo guard continues.”

He was my option B if the option A speculated about was a no-go. But I never got the sense it was close to happening from reading what others wrote or hearing what others said. Then again this staff keeps things close to the vest.

NBA has released invite list for G-League camp. A few interesting names: Jose Alvarado, Marcus Carr, Dawson Garcia, Moussa Cisse, Kofi Cockburn, Mac McClung, among others. Top performers will get NBA Combine invite.

Jose Alvarado completely took over the fourth quarter of this first game at G League Camp. Biggest dog at this event. Great two days for him here. Has a strong case to advance to the combine.

This is why I don't get the NBA. Seems like a PG who can score and play defense should have a long career on a bench somewhere, especially since I've seen some bad backup PG play in my day. Seemed like a no-brainer to me, although I did selfishly hope he'd end up here even though he's probably 23 and has a kid./media/kunena/emoticons/grin.png

You're right on both...He is 23 and does have a kid.

St. John's has expressed interest in Hofstra grad transfer Tareq Coburn, per source. 6-5 guard who averaged 15.1 points and shot 39.6 percent from deep last year. #sjubb
