Some of the notable new names from this list: Jose Alvarado, Derrick Alston Jr, Nahziah Carter, Ryan Daly, Quade Green, Javion Hamlett, Kyle Mangas, EJ Onu, Colbey Ross, Jordan Schakel, Justin Smith, Mark Vital, McKinley Wright, Moses Wright. Still quite a few seniors undeclared.

As for Wright’s two Yellow Jackets teammates who also are pursuing the NBA, not much has changed with guards Jose Alvarado and Michael Devoe. Pastner said that Alvarado is “going all in to be in the NBA draft,” but hasn’t made a final stay/go decision.“I think a lot’s going on to depend on once he starts doing workouts and what feedback he gets,” Pastner said.As for whether his decision would be based on whether he gets drafted, Pastner said that “it’s not that black and white.”

I believe the song referenced in the lyrics Alvarado posted is New York New York (written by Kander and Ebb). It was first sung by Liza Minnelli in the 1977 Martin Scorsese movie New York New York but made famous by Frank Sinatra.

New York State of Mind is a Billy Joel song.

The song is actually "Empire State of Mind," but it's reference is about, of course, New York.

Nas also has a song titled "NY State of Mind."  /media/kunena/emoticons/smile.png

The Alvarado thing will go on for a while.

We only have to really start worrying when he posts lyrics to "The Final Countdown." Or maybe a Ray Charles song.

Just a music FYI the title of the Billy Joel song is not "Empire State of Mind." It is in fact titled "New York State of Mind" and was released in 1976 on Joel's Turnstiles album. Billy Joel did do a tourism ad for the Empire State using his New York State of Mind song. (see below)

You are correct that Nas did a very different song with the same title called "New York State of Mind"

The song Moose was referencing in Alvarado's tweet is titled "Empire State of Mind."  I wasn't talking about the Billy Joel song, which I was already aware.

How tall is Billy Joel

MJ Maher has met him. Not sure if he has a pic of the two of them side by side, though.

He was about 4'5" when I saw him in front of the American Hotel, but he was sitting in a chair at the time.

Who cares about which song it is?  That is quite a blatant hint at coming to NY.  Not getting hopes out of control here, but this is the first post from The horses mouth that is pretty telling.

Could he be trying to say I can make it in the NBA because I could make it in NY. It's not like he said I am coming home. I hope he is but I need more.

I'm comin' home, I've done my time
Now I've got to know what is and isn't mine
If you received my letter telling you I'd soon be free
Then you'll know just what to do
If you still want me, if you still want meWhoa, tie a yellow ribbon 'round the ole oak tree
It's been three long years, do you still want me?
If I don't see a ribbon round the ole oak tree
I'll stay on the bus, forget about us, put the blame on me
If I don't see a yellow ribbon 'round the ole oak tree
